Thanks for visiting my talk page. Please post your message at the bottom of the page, with a new ==Section Heading==, if you are starting a new topic.

If I have posted a comment on your talk page or an article talk page, please reply inline on that page. I watch all articles I post to, and I prefer not to page-jump when trying to follow a conversation thread. Thanks for your consideration.

If you post a message to me below, I will respond (if warranted/requested) inline on this page as well. If you want to be alerted of my reply, please put this page on your watchlist and keep an eye on it. Thanks!  Erielhonan  21:40, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Recent feedback edit

Thanks for your recent feedback. I would like to show you the responses I made to this user:

Reply to your comment edit

Thanks for your recent feedback. I apologize if you took offense to the placement of maintenance tags, as certainly none is intended. These tags place the article into categories of similar articles with these issues so that any interested Wikipedian can assist in resolving the problems. We all do this without compensation, which is why it's important to cooperate. Part of that is to ensure that articles are properly categorized, which is part of the job of those who patrol new pages. Seraphimblade 08:04, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Again, I do apologize if you took offense. Please do note that once an article is posted, anyone may edit it. Could you please specify what it is that you object to, that I did? Seraphimblade 08:10, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Might I ask, in exactly what way I did not approach him civilly and in an attempt to work with him? After my last request for him to specify what his complaint was, he deleted the comments from his talk page and did not respond. I certainly did not intend to harass him to demand a response, and if he considered the discussion closed I took him at his word-that he did not appear to wish to improve the article any further. I do appreciate your feedback, but might you specify what you would've had me do differently? Seraphimblade 08:39, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Semen2.jpg edit

Although you might find the image vulgar, keep in mind that Wikipedia is NOT censored.. The image shows exactly what it says it shows, and is tagged correctly. Thus, in the eyes of Wikipedia, there is nothing wrong with it. Cheers! ~ PHDrillSergeant...§ 18:35, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I replied here. - Erielhonan
I understand that you are somewhat offended by the image. Unfortunately, sometimes, when all sides will be offended either way, Wikipedians must choose the least offensive side. This does cause disputes and arguments and, sometimes, wars--but these things must be tolerated in order to keep the structure of the Wiki community sound. My best advice: tolerate it as much as you can, and when you can't tolerate it any more, rant about it on the talk page. Remember one of my favorite quotes: "It is always sound business to take any obtainable net gain, at any cost and at any risk to the rest of the community." - Thorstein Veblen
Cheers. ~ PHDrillSergeant...§ 20:22, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello again edit

I believe I was a bit short with you the last time we spoke and I'd like to apologize. Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my userpage.

I wrote a short essay on my position and left it on the user page, please feel free to read and comment if you'd like. Seraphimblade 04:58, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

User categories edit

Nope. Basically, this project came out of the CfD decision to make all "user" categories contain the word "Wikipedian," and give the new category names some semblance of sensibility. In the process, many users decided that certain categories either made no sense or were too trivial to keep track of, so those have taken a number of delete votes. The overall goal now seems to be to make a set of user categories that people can say, "These are named correctly and have merit in building an encyclopedia." So that's what we're doing. Hope that helps.--Mike Selinker 18:35, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, no problem. It was here. Come join in if you like.--Mike Selinker 18:51, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
There's no real organized conversation, just hundreds of nominations and the talk pages of the discussions. Check the archives for some of the discussions. At some point I plan to write up the "rules" agreed to in these discussions, such as "subcategories of category:Wikipedians by interest are named "Wikipedians interested in (X)." Sorry I can't come up with more. (Thanks for giving your opinion on some of the discussions, by the way.)--Mike Selinker 21:06, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The night of the living category change recommendations edit

I am curious: were you and User:Mike Selinker assigned the task of evaluating herds of user categories by a workgroup or project team? Posting a similar question on his talk page.  Erielhonan  18:13, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think Mike Selinker expressed it as well as (or more likely, better than) I could, above. - jc37 20:08, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

While I typically have no opinion about long signature markup, at WP:UCFD (due to the already long length of the page), it's starting to become difficult to navigate. (Yes, I see the "comment" showing the end, but it's still tough, at least for me.) Would you be willing to not use it just for that page? - jc37 21:24, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I was too busy snaking through the recommendations and didn't get back here till I was done. I will use {{user|Erielhonan}} {{time}} in the future. Erielhonan (talk · contribs) 23:11, 21 May 2024 UTC [refresh]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Alt history.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Alt history.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 18:17, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Delete away. I uploaded it for a use that I quickly realized wasn't fair use, so I abandoned it (and forgot to request deletion myself). Thanks for catching it.  Erielhonan  21:37, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reply from Nadirali edit

Erialhonen,if you archived my messages thats fine, however I will adress some issues we've dealt with and hopefully will not have to deal with again.

First off,it was you started talking to me, and I agreed to retrain myself.

Second off I will adress the issue of writing things like: users please check the history of this talk page is attempting to give other wikipedians a bad image of me.Its just like if Ive exchanged negative comments in a conversation,it would be like you recording them and attempting to distribute the recorded tapes among people to give me a negative image.Loss of temper does not reflect a person's image or personality as everyone looses their temper at times of frustration.Yes even you.So please do not do that in the future.I will only be forced to write to the appropriate people to adress a similar issue(which I hope does not happen)

.Also "I dont go around making everyone smell my ****."That kind of language will not be tolerated and I will write to the "Report a problem" link if it keeps going on or report it to other of the 400 administrators.

You may not mind using it,but the use of words that offends a certain user is not accepted here at wikipedia and if it does happen again(I really hope it does not for both users and administrators),I will write to resolve an editing dispute page of wikipedia to furthur adress this problem if it ever comes up.

Also,be warned I still promise to continue combating any corrupt users/administrators who are abusing the very basis on which wikipedia was founded upon as the free encyclopdia so I hope you are not following or stray into that negative path. As I said,I have signed a petition adressed to Mr Wales regrding the continues corruption and abuse by some users/administrators who do not belong here at all. I am also actively supporting sites that are working to bring the corruption and foul play on wikipedia to the attention of the public and other internet users. I know you dont personaly belive there is any abuse here, but a person's or people's personal belif(s) does not reflect upon the entire populations belif(s)s or change reality.

Last of all,do not consider or rebuff my warnings as threats,I am here to help wikipedia expand not destroy or reduce it.ThankyouNadirali 04:29, 2 December 2006 (UTC)NadiraliReply

Nadirali, your behavior continues to be problematic to me. I will keep an eye on you for a few more days and if you keep up your apparent hostility I will urge administrative action.
The **** you cite above is the word "anus", and was being used in an extended simile with the word "opinion". I am making a comment on what seems to me your abuse of the NPOV policy and your nationalistic posturing in your comments on other users. Perhaps my cheeky simile wasn't entirely appropriate, but it was apt. I find direct threats and insults a lot more offensive than what you are ascribing to me. Feel free to announce me to the admins if I bother you.
I will not be warned. I don't appreciate your crusade-against-corruption posture, and I find it incredibly unhelpful and in bad faith. You also consistently threaten to bring off-wiki action against Wikipedia (granted not legal action, but a threat of exposure of alleged 'corruption'), which is really in bad form and also smells of policy violation. Continuing down that rhetorical path cannot bring you any good results in Wikipedia.
My urging other editors to read your talk page history is not an attempt to discredit you unfairly. You keep commenting on and/or sanitizing your talk page, which is against policy. That information is stored for a reason - so that it's available to other editors to review. I reverted that edit to your page in order to cool down my own rhetoric, but you've brought it back up. I very strongly encourage you to restore all the edits (mine and everyone else's) to your talk page that you have deleted. To properly inform your argument that it's 'your space and your right to', please read this section.

 Erielhonan  06:51, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

My so-called "crusade posture" is only an effort to save wikipedia from falling into the wrong hands and keeping it a free encyclopedia. Please do not twist my words by saying that Im trying to attack or destroy wikipedia.I am doing just the opposite. And do not rebuff that as "bad behaviour" or "threats".It is the best faith I can have in myself as a wikipedian(and others who support me). And please stop wrongly labelling what I say as "hostility".

Yes you, along with all wikipedians(including me)will be warned of any serious violations that pose a threat to wikipedia. Please understand your position as an administrator does not intimidate me at all.It does not give you any exclusive powers over other wikipedians whatsoever. However if you wish to report me,then go ahead.I will speak to other administrators on this issue myself if it is brought up to me by them or the administrative board.

I also want to thankyou for admitting to your cheeky behaviour as I also admit that I messed around a bit with my talk page.My talk page is like a school locker and it does not entirely belong to me.

I did not deliberately delete my messages this time,I attempted to archive it as Ragib suggested. But I clicked the wrong option.(I have Ragib to thank for removing alot of hatemail from my talk page and warning the hater of his actions)

You will find my so-called "crusade posture" will be very helpful to wikipedia. The "alleged corruption" ,as you put it, is a belief is shared beyond more than just me.It is also being exposed on more than just one site(and will continue to being exposed until the mischief here stops). The sites have people on them who have unjustly been blocked out of wikipedia by these same people I speak of. I can send you the links again if you wish.

It is not for anyone to judge me as "nationalist".If you personaly belive that,I respect it but I personally dont share that belief. However,I will not sit and watch my people wrongly be sterotyped as "terrorists" on wikipedia or be associated with the 9/11 attacks in any way.It would be a parallel to someone using wikipedia to associate ordinary Germans with Nazism, when in fact most Germans have nothing to do with such ideaology nowdays. I also dont like the streotypical labels given to my people of being "Indians" or "Arabs".I think one of the worst ways of abusing an encyclopedia is filling it with racial stereotypes. This is a good example of the propaganda I promise to throw out of wikipedia along with the people who use it as a perfect tool to promote such false propaganda. (When have I made direct threats or insults at you?)

ThankyouNadirali 02:56, 3 December 2006 (UTC)NadiraliReply
