Hello EricEdwardWilson714. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:EricEdwardWilson714. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=EricEdwardWilson714|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 14:22, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am not being paid. The information needs updating. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:34, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

Please help me with... I need to move this article name from PACE-Brantley Hall School to read as the current name of the school which is Pace Brantley Preparatory School and it's URL is https://pacebrantley.org/. Thank you, Eric Wilson EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:42, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the url and made the link a standard internal link. What is your association with the school? Why do you "need" to do this? Is this the most commonly used name for the school? We don't necessarily use official or legal names, Bill Clinton, not William Jefferson Clinton. 331dot (talk) 14:46, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I just want the information on the wiki to reflect the current name of the school as "Pace Brantley Preparatory School" from the old name on this article EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:49, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
This does not answer the question. What is your association with the school? You didn't pick it at random to edit about and have an interest in its name. 331dot (talk) 14:52, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I rebranded the school. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:53, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
My son went to that school and others can't find information about it on wikipedia, so I am helping them for free as a contributor. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:54, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
You should formally declare the conflict of interest you have, please see WP:COI. 331dot (talk) 14:57, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
There are also much larger issues with the article than its name, including whether the article should exist at all. It is poorly sourced. 331dot (talk) 14:48, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have become a contributor and am learning about all these issues. I updated a lot using citations I made in other wiki articles, such as learning disabilities, and used my own photos of the school from those who either work there or went to that school. It's just not right to have wrong article title, and misleading to those who want to learn more about opportunities for children with learning disabilities. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:52, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Prospective students or their parents should go directly to the school website for information about the school. Wikipedia, to be frank, has no interest in promoting the school. 331dot (talk) 14:53, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is not meant to promote yet rather to be correct. The name of the article is old and outdated. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:54, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm referring to "those who want to learn more about opportunities for children with learning disabilities", not the name. 331dot (talk) 14:56, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I understand, I am new at this please forgive my mistake. In reference to "those who want to learn more about opportunities for children with learning disabilities" I have always used Wikipedia for sourcing correct information. I thought others would use wikipedia to do honest research. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 14:58, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Do not trust Wikipedia blindly, see the general disclaimer. I think the other, more important issues should be dealt with before worrying about the name(such as the total lack of independent reliable sources). If you want to request a rename, you may do so at Requested Moves once you've complied with WP:COI. 331dot (talk) 15:03, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
How do I declare that my son went to this school? I believe this is what your are referring to. Please assist with easier links to understand how to declare my son went to this school. EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 15:05, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
It seems to be more than your son attending the school, as you say you are helping them. Is the school aware of this? In any event if you click WP:COI, scroll down to "how to disclose". I must step away for a time but if you are not able to, I will add it for you. 331dot (talk) 15:08, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your help. Not sure this was worth my morning this morning as none of the updates using inside wiki links to describe what is being displayed have not been updated. I too have other things to do. Interesting experience, and if you think you can update my profile today I would appreciate it. I am very interested, COI or not, in providing correct information. I will later re-try to word the information so it does not read like promotional material. Thank you again for your expertise and time today. -Eric EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 15:30, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've added the COI notice to your userpage. 331dot (talk) 16:42, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much! EricEdwardWilson714 (talk) 16:50, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cleaning up article's multiple issues

edit
This article is an orphan, as no other articles link to it. Please introduce links to this page from related articles; try the Find link tool for suggestions. (June 2016)

I have updated and cleaned this up

This article relies excessively on references to primary sources. (January 2010)

I have updated references to primary sources within Wiki for more information about the topic.

This article uses bare URLs, which are uninformative and vulnerable to link rot. (August 2022)

I have removed the automated links to bare URLS and made sure the article did not read like an advertisement.

Please advise and remove theses issues if they meet the requirements.

Thank you,
