Kanu

edit

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles, as you did at Nwankwo Kanu. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Qwghlm 22:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Grace Kelly (song)

edit

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Grace Kelly (song). It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is not a plug for one's Bebos, MySpaces, and whatnots; that said, in accord to policy, I have since reverted your edits, for you have blatantly "spammed". Anyhow, thank you for edits to Wikipedia, however significant or insignificant they may be, or lasting or not. --Qwerty (talk) 15:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rather than linking to the town Colwyn Bay, when you really want the football club, try either Colwyn Bay F.C. or maybe even [[Colwyn Bay F.C.|Colwyn Bay FC]], which displays like Colwyn Bay FC. You can say how the link is to be displayed by putting that text to the right of the vertical bar character. Have fun. Shenme 19:24, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Ben Williams (Singer)

edit

A tag has been placed on Ben Williams (Singer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Onorem 11:52, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial use of Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:50, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:JonasAndre Berg.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg. The copy called Image:JonasAndreBerg.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 14:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
