Compound adjectives

Compound adjectives in English are singular and hyphenated. At the talk page at WT:FRANCE, correcting something I wrote, you said:

...be careful about your spelling, for instance "Ten years Consulate".

but that is incorrect; in English, it is "ten-year Consulate"—that is, hyphenated, and singular. The expression "ten years Consulate" is wrong in English. Here are some other examples:

• Y Originally, a president of the Fifth Republic was elected for a 7-year term (le septennat).
• N Originally, a president of the Fifth Republic was elected for a 7-years term (le septennat). – wrong
• Y In 1869, Harvard sent a four-man crew with coxswain to England to compete in the 'Great International Boat Race' against Oxford University.
• N In 1869, Harvard sent a four-men crew with coxswain to England to compete in the 'Great International Boat Race' against Oxford University. – wrong
