Pic edit

Image:Los Angeles skyline.JPG is an excellent picture. Several night pictures have been proposed for the article but they were vetoed as looking "generic night city". None of them did as good a job job of capturing the city at night as yours. That said, we all may or may not decide to keep it as the main image to represent the city. But regardless of that decision, you've made an excellent photograph. Thanks for contributing it to the project. Cheers, -Will Beback 09:33, 2 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

PS: More than a single image to capture all of L.A., we need many images to capture the many aspects of L.A. and its environs. If you're an interested photographer, we're interested in getting pictures of all neighborhoods, cities, points of interest, etc. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Southern California. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, -Will Beback 09:37, 2 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Paradise cove.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Paradise cove.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:07, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Bob Marley pic edit

The picture that you contributed of Bob Marley is a very good one, certainly a better one than the last one on that page. However, since it has no confirmed source, it cannot remain on the site for more than a week. It would be a shame to lose this image, so any and all help you can give us in order that we might find a fair use rationale for it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Burndownthedisco talk 18:12, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I would consult the Wikipedia image use policy to see how you could possibly justify the fair use of this picture. In general, pictures found by sites such as Google Image Search (or, indeed, almost any image merely found on a website_ are not likely to meet fair use standards, but if it is at all possible, I would recommend tracking down the person who took that picture and asking their permission to use it; this would guarantee its availability. Image copyright problem with Image:Burning_Spear.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Burning_Spear.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

PROD for Beatrice Model agency edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Beatrice Model agency, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Beatrice Model agency. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —Wknight94 (talk) 11:47, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah ha, you're right! My bad. Sorry about that... —Wknight94 (talk) 12:08, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:LA citylights.JPG listed for deletion edit

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:LA citylights.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Unspecified source for Image:BobMarley 01.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BobMarley 01.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 22:51, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:BOB MARLEY LEG.jpg) edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:BOB MARLEY LEG.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 11:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Beatrice International Models edit

The article Beatrice International Models has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Failed to find reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
