Please use citations

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

In your recent changes to Velocity, Inc. you did helpfully provide a source for the numerical changes, but you should also take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources to learn how you can cite a source between reftags that will make the source show up properly in the References section of an article. Thanks for your contributions to the encyclopedia. N2e (talk) 21:33, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the link. I was having trouble finding a doc or good example of how to do that citation. By the way, would you mind looking at my comment on Talk:Velocity,_Inc. about the mailing list citation. I'm not sure how to move forward there.
No problem. I have responded on the Velocity page, provided a sample, and suggested you actually make the edit to add the citation. However, do note that the real (and correct) source for Wikipedia policy on citations is Wikipedia:Citing sources. You may find it easier not to use my sample citation and, instead, use the "cite web" format or some such from that policy page. Cheers. N2e (talk) 01:18, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Again, welcome!

Hi again Emteeoh. Here is a bit more personal Welcome to Wikipedia from me. Let me know if you need any help getting started. N2e (talk) 05:49, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Toupie

edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Toupie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the importance of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. η-θ 01:20, 24 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sanguino3 G-Code

edit
Notice

The article Sanguino3 G-Code has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP: N. I found a couple theses that mention S3G in passing, but this isn't sufficient to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
