Deletion of bio

edit

Hi, if you can verify that you are actually the person described in the article (Emmalina), then I can see what I can do. I may have seen some guideline allowing for the deletion of an article on a non-public figure, if that individual wishes to have it deleted. If that's not possible, I believe some of the privacy guidelines allow for the removal of certain personal details, that you may not wish to be published. --Madchester 06:42, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm Emmalina. I can be e-mailed at creamlola@gmail.com (the address I have public on my LiveJournal) to verify if needed. I'd really, REALLY like for the article to be deleted, especially since people have discovered that it can be used to indirectly harass me. EmmalinaL 11:11, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Birthday

edit

I don't know, I just copied it from what was already on the Wikipedia entry. However, I was trying to find your birthdate, but kept coming up blank with other users who have also taken the handle of Emmalina. I noted about it on the biographies noticeboard. Hopefully an admin will delete the article and restore it without the birhtdate. Hbdragon88 07:20, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and if you have problems with the article itself, you can directly contact the foundation about it. Hbdragon88 07:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Already have, received no response after four weeks. I'll just wait it out until the article becomes completely unnotable and someone nominates it for deletion. For the third time. EmmalinaL 07:40, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

See, the thing is though, you don't "lose" notability if you suddenly disappear. Angela Beesley nominated her article for deletoin for the third time based on the fact that she was no longer notable because she had resigned from the Board of Trustees. The Wikimedia Foundation is probably the only viable way to get the article deleted. Hbdragon88 17:00, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's not so much that I mind the article existing for now - what I mind is when it's edited to include unnecessary personal information like my surname, birth date and address...as well as other less than desirable things. I mean, sure, it's deleted pretty quick - but it's all still in the bloody history for anyone to browse through. EmmalinaL 21:29, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've been trying to get them removed via Wikipedia:Oversight. So far the revisions regarding the "fan mail" mailing address and your surname have been deeleted. I'm still awaiting article deletion to hide the birthday. Hbdragon88 02:40, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Would you mind trying to weed out the links to the...er...pictures that were stolen from my PC? I really do appreciate any time you spend trying to get it removed, thanks so much. 124.177.40.35 07:17, 6 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Damn it. Admin didn't go through with the entire revision deleting. I asked about it in another email, where another administrator also said that the general prinicpal of birthdays on WP:BLP didn't override the need to preserve all copies of the history (under the GFDL). So yes, your birthday is hidden on the outside, but, alas, all revisions from July 2 to September 5 still contain your birhtday. Hbdragon88 07:46, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

That has got to be the most retarded shit. Fuck wikipedia. 124.177.40.35 11:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Let me make one more stab at appealing to our exhalted leader himself, Jimmy Wales. Hbdragon88 23:57, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yay. I finally got it done; see thread for the details. Hbdragon88 23:56, 22 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
