Welcome! edit

Hello, Emmadwilson, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Note edit

Hi! I saw that you edited the article on the Great Salt Lake. Ian is out today, so I wanted to give you a bit of a head's up. This article is of Good Article status, which means that it's one of the best articles on Wikipedia and tends to be more heavily watched. As such, it may be a good idea to leave a brief note on the article's talk page and explain why you changed the article that was previously the one that was linked.

Also, since you changed a link I wouldn't mark something like this as minor in the future - a minor edit is more supposed to be an uncontroversial edit such as fixing a grammatical or spelling error or updating a broken source link. Changing one link to another can be seen as fairly major to some, so it's something I usually don't mark as a minor edit myself.

I hope this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:50, 23 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2023 edit

Hello, I'm TJRC. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, D. B. Cooper in popular culture, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TJRC (talk) 00:50, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
