Signature edit

Thank you for your message on my talk page! I am glad that you did not mind me shortening the article after you had worked on it.

Please would you go into Preferences and add a link to your user talk page in your signature? See WP:SIGLINK. – Fayenatic London 09:49, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I have added a link to my user talk page in my signature. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EmilePersaud 10:00, 8 May 2019 (UTC)EmilePersaud (I'm still not certain if all I am doing is correct!)Reply

Hi, that's kind of OK but I suggest this:

– EmilePersaud [[User talk:EmilePersaud|(talk)]]

(If you look at the code of this page, you will see "nowiki" codes; don't copy them, but just the stuff in between, which you can see without editing the page.)
Paste that into your signature and do tick the box that says "Treat the above as wiki markup." – Fayenatic London 21:01, 9 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Tank Troopers has been reverted.
Your edit here to Tank Troopers was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fMywOiF2dk) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Problem with your custom signature edit

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:02, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

Tshuau River proposed for deletion edit

Proposed deletion of Tshuau River edit

The article Tshuau River has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A little stream not shown on Openstreetmap, Bing & Google. All search results are database generated, and info is limited to location of the mouth.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. E-960 (talk) 19:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

August 2023 edit

You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Gorals) for a period of 2 weeks for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:41, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I accept that I should be blocked for a period of two weeks, as I did revert the other editor's decisions, before knowing the rules on edit warring. However, I protest the decision, if I am correct, of not also blocking the other user E-660. I believe that my citations on the article ([1] show that E-960 is a highly malicious actor who is using nationalism to deny the cultural validity of the Goral ethnic group. He has engaged himself in pervasive edit warring on sources, as I linked in my report, which go against his own narrative and I strongly believe that if not countered, he will continue to flood the article on Gorals with false narratives and destructive messaging. He has in my cited sources been shown to revert what he does not agree with, and for that reason I protest the outcome of the report. Thank you for reading and I sincerely hope you reconsider the outcome. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EmilePersaud 20:54, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Unblock requests are not to be used for this sort of thing. Please see WP:GAB. Yamla (talk) 20:55, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hi EmilePersaud, how did you become aware of Special:Diff/1172168280, or the edit history of the Gorals article in general? ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:55, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi ToBeFree, thank you for giving me the time for a response. I've been interested in Carpathian history and specifically the Gorals for a few years after I visited the Highlands on a trip across Poland. I met a lot of Gorals and now know friends on both sides of the border, so I've been checking the article on Gorals every now and then. I saw the edit and wanted to say something and so did my own research because I knew that his edits are wrong and I want to contribute into making the article correct. The insurmountable evidence, especially from accounts of people in Slovakia as there is more activist effort there, is that the Gorals are an ethnic group. The user in question I filed a report against has been ignoring sources and adding in his own. I apologise again for the edit war, I didn't know the rules and only wanted to correct the record when I looked in history and saw mass reverts which I'm sure stemmed originally not from Dawido, but from E-960. Sorry for the long paragraph, I just want to get my point across clearly, I hope it's of help, I appreciate your time given. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EmilePersaud (talkcontribs) 21:21, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hm hm. I was mainly wondering if you have a connection to Dawidospowidos, for example if that user has informed you about the conflict. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:48, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
No, I've never spoken to him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EmilePersaud 21:49, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, no worries then. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:55, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Article talk pages are about article content edit

Please avoid discussing users' behavior ("edit warring" or whatever else) on article talk pages. Focus on the content in the discussion please (cf. "no meta" at WP:TPG). ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:58, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

(I am aware that others have done so too and have informed them separately at User talk:Dawidospowidos and in the edit summary of Special:Diff/1173036236.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:59, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The user which I reported, as seen in the edits had been engaging in malicious reverts of the Goral page, including using obscure sources, which were not on the topic at hand, but mentioned the Gorals. For example, in [1], it is an article that largely talks about the Roma. Both Gorals and Roma are referred to as subgroups, but also as ethnic groups. The user mentioned has been so prolific in his vandalism that an admin Miki Filigranski (talk · contribs) has said that he has racked up so many violations and is notorious in other Polish ethnic spaces that he was close to be being banned. This has been the case in the Gorals article. My edits were protecting the page from malicious and persistent vandalism and I do not believe that I should be punished for it, due to the damage it has done to the legitimacy of the sources of the article, which can be seen with a mere look through the history and the sources which the reported user has tampered with.

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:EmilePersaud 00:03, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

So what you are saying is that you think that your edits were correct; being correct with your edits is not a defense to edit warring, as everyone in an edit war thinks that their edits are correct. Blocks are not a punishment, but a means of preventing disruption to Wikipedia. I see no reason here to restore your access to the article itself, you may use the article talk page to propose edits and discuss your concerns to reach a consensus with other editors. 331dot (talk) 09:02, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Custom signature fix needed edit

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
