February 2022 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Freestyle skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's halfpipe, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at 2021 PBA 3x3 season – Second conference, you may be blocked from editing. Please, don't do your own calculations, just like what you did at 2021 PBA 3x3 season – Second conference. I had so much cleaning up to do after your updates. Also, could please use edit summaries? Thanks. Engr. Smitty Werben 17:33, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to 2021 Barangay Ginebra San Miguel season, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Engr. Smitty Werben 08:17, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

It does not make sense to add the delay now, de Jong is unlikely to hold the first position, and then all the delaye will be recalculated with respect to the champion.--Ymblanter (talk) 08:59, 17 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at 2021 PBA 3x3 season – Second conference, you may be blocked from editing. Don't add qualification letters if it is not yet sure. You have been repeatedly warned about this. Engr. Smitty Werben 06:16, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Note that I decided to revoke talk page access following this nonsense. It read (in full!): Don't make changes to vandals next time — what does that even mean? But they managed to also add this right before I pressed the button. Doesn't matter. May well be just too incompetent, even to fully understand what's happening right now. Language barrier likely a major factor, but this is the English Wikipedia, so a decent command of the English language is required, at least when one makes contested edits to a contested topic area. Request reason:

So a while ago I ran across a page with inaccurate information, which I tried to fix, but there were too many inconsistencies to fix so I rolled the page back to what it was before I had begun and gave up, but later found I was blocked anyways? So to make this very clear, yes I am hoping this block can be removed becuase I was blocked anyways despite rolling back the change as if I had never made it. I will to continue writing emails, editing and creating articles and following the editors and admins. I much better understand that, if a draft article that feels limited in scope an appears to paint a overly-negative picture, it is best for it to either go unpublished in the article space, or at least first go through other hands for review and revision first. I will attend future ArbCom elections in the near future. I contribute to the project with good faith was being that I proceed to make positive edits where I can. I am not making legal threats. Again, I'm just trying to help. Ellinewilliams231 (talk) 11:56, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ellinewilliams231, that you're trying to help isn't in question. But your unblock request, though a great improvement, is unfortunately still subpar. And kinda out there. Like, what does ARBCOM elections have to do with anything? (No such elections in the near future, btw.) So, although you're communicating much more cogently now (in drastic contrast to your prior comments), this request still fails to recognize the reasons why I blocked you or why I revoked talk page access soon thereafter. How you'd avoid it next time. I will to continue writing emails, editing and creating articles and following the editors and admins is very vague.
Look, I don't need for you to grovel or anything, I don't want that. But there's too much WP:NOTTHEM in your request. Crucially, you need to firmly commit to curving the WP:BATTLEGROUND, and from this point on, to WP:COMMUNICATE comprehensively (i.e. readability) as a matter of course, even if it takes a lot more time to do. And, finally, to tie this all together, also communicate pertinently, responsively (i.e. relevantly). Thanks and good luck. El_C 13:14, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you El_C. Will accepting your request. Ellinewilliams231 (talk) 03:39, 14 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Yamla. Good to talk to you after 1 month. If so will you please take above one to the AN (or the appropriate one). Thanks!Ellinewilliams231 (talk) 04:01, 19 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
No. Your unblock request is a complete mess and WP:SNOWBALL would apply. For example, you are not eligible for the standard offer as you edited just a few weeks ago. For example, you abused the help-me template earlier this month, demonstrating you still don't know how to follow simple directions. I'm not going to close your unblock request, but it doesn't convince me you've understood WP:BATTLEGROUND or the other policies. Just saying you have read the policies isn't enough, especially when you continue to demonstrate a complete lack of WP:CIR. I'm done here. --Yamla (talk) 10:43, 19 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Yamla @El C Your right. Thank you very much. I already respect it in good faith and I will not ever to do that again to make editing disruptions in the near future. Ellinewilliams231 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Thanks for your time reading this request- it may be a little lengthy, but I want to respond to the various points raised. To Deepfriedokra, El_C, and others: I have closely reviewed the wp:GAB as well as WP:BATTLEGROUND, WP:COMMUNICATION and WP:RS and would like to make a second Unblock appeal.

(1) As an established editor, I'll never cause damage or disruption and I always try to make the best contributions accordingly with an edit summary, because I admit that I've never taken it seriously thus far, but will try to implement it in my future edits. Here I’m requesting the unblock of my user account. I hope that I will be able to redeem myself for my mistakes. I will be very cautious and careful in editing, but probably I will not edit as much as I used to. All of my articles are well-researched. I promise to never ever again as this is wrong and I would like another chance. I will cite my edits so that other editors and readers know the accuracy of what they are reading.

(2) I promise to only use this account for making the rest of my edits on Wikipedia. In that time, I've studied Wikipedia guidelines, manuals, instructions and tutorials. I understand how to correctly add references to new information. I will also review the 5 Pillars. I apologize for that. After much reflection, I honestly think I am in a better, more self-aware state now and can curb any compulsiveness should it arise again. I will admit I have been a bit trigger happy with the editing over the past few months but I promise if given a second chance it will not happen again, after more then a few warnings and also that now I have a better understanding of the rules. I will try to be less disruptive and convince more. I continued the discussion on the talk page with editors and progress was made. The Wikipedia policy on blocking is supposed to be to protect Wikipedia from disruptive edits, of which the edit activity had already concluded.

(3) I honestly have no idea how to communicate, as all I have done is edits and creating pages. I have done no communication with any other editors. If I could have some guidance towards how to communicate, I would definitely begin to do so. I've learned to listen more carefully and articulate myself more clearly. Until a disagreement about sources, the vast majority of my edits were deemed credible, and I got too frustrated with opposition to some of my edits. Building a consensus and listening to consensus are Necessary, especially since I have been WP:Bold; I understand that now. It means like the ability of reaching consensus, the ability of knowing communicate with other users in this Wikipedia in English, and understand errors, in this case now I reflected and I promise that I will be better and when I put comments it will be shorter but understandable, if I put an extremely large text the users cannot understand me.

Now I understand the reason I was blocked, I wasn't following policies properly, please excuse me that I did not realize that while I edited articles with the reason of following policies I didn't realize I was going to make edit war in so many articles. But now I reflected and I see the reason why I was actually blocked: Disrupted editing in articles and also lack of competence, now I understand, I promise you that when I will be unblocked I will not continue with the same edits that I had been doing in that articles that led to this block, what I will do is first get consensus on the talk pages of those, also I promise that I will do my best to keep my explanations or comments short and to the point. I will stop making disruptive edits and start making better edits. A lot of articles have citation errors and I might correct any that I see. I hope that you, the admin reviewing this, takes my request to be unblocked.

Ultimately I accept that my constant back and forth was not the most productive. I am seeking this approval so I may continue contributing to the Wikipedia Community in a compliant, ethical manner. I like to think that generally my edits are well researched, and made in good faith in an effort to expand the project, not disrupt or vandalize. first of all, I appreciate Yamla's acknowledgement that this is a procedural decline only. I am requesting the standard offer to any admin. I will try to be less disruptive and convince more. I also asking the admin to have a block repealing. In the end, I'd like to say that I do not like anyone to get a bad impression of me, so I would like to change my behavior here in particular. I'm sorry and I'm apologized. I thank you for taking the time to consider this, and for my future unblocking. The 2 admins below seemed to see my likelihood of getting unblocked as "promising", and I just want to be a productive wikipedien again. I await your reply. Thank you all for your help! @Yamla Oh sure. I understand the rules that we have in the past month why I blocked by El C back last month for disruptive editing, as well as Ohnoitsjamie for revoking emails. Deepfriedokra meanwhile did Revoking talk page access for other users, but it is limited to my talk page because of inappropriate use of user talk page while blocked. I reviewed the 5 Pillars. Ellinewilliams231 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I'm sorry for my disruptive editing what I did two months ago. I had 2 blocks this year, most recently the indefinite one back in April. I have to follow the technical accuracy and checking on language and grammar. I want to improve my English skills and I prove that Wikipedia is a better encyclopedia. I promise that will not editing unsourced citations ever again and I will give a another chance. I will not repeating any of mistakes. I already understand the concerns by the three blocking admins and those handling the UTRS. After unblocking, I will plan to contribute to articles related to Television, current events and replying to other user's talk pages. Thanks as always, Ellinewilliams231 (talk) 11:30, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

It's becoming clear from the multiple requests, and the continuing edit after edit of these requests, that you lack sufficient competence to edit on Wikipedia. As it stands I am declining this unblock and once against removing talk page access as this has become a major time sink. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:51, 6 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is almost incoherent and demonstrates you lack sufficient competence to write English. It also does not describe "a substantive edit you would make", as directed by 331dot. It looks like you are deliberately wasting our time. Are you absolutely sure this is the unblock request you wish to make? Be warned, it may result in you losing talk page access. --Yamla (talk) 11:37, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey @Yamla, I starting contributing in 2014, meanwhile in 2022, I read Wikipedia, but not editing.
