Ellerdch (talk) 15:36, 13 June 2008 (UTC){{helpme}}Ellerdch (talk) 15:36, 13 June 2008 (UTC) I am VERY VERY new to this! I am trying to create a new article for a friend, but when I do I am told the "This page is currently protected, and can be edited only by administrators." Now what?Reply

This means the article is currently blocked from being created - what is the article? xenocidic (talk) 15:38, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is a resume for an actor called Raymond Griffiths.

Please remember that wikipedia is for notable content, written from a neutral point of view. The article has been deleted multiple times because it was a copywrite violation of http://www.raymondgriffiths.co.uk/index.php?page=5 . ffm 15:44, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Are you saying that I cannot put anything about Ray on Wiki?

Only if you keep it NPOV and if he is notable. ffm 16:18, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Please prepare the article in your userspace here: User:Ellerdch/Raymond Griffiths and then visit me on my talk page to ask it be moved to the mainspace. However, I don't think this individual can satisfy our inclusion guidelines for lack of having "been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." xenocidic (talk) 16:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delay, am working on the article. Will let you know when it is done, hopefully not long now. I wish I understood what you just typed!?

Oops - I wish you would've dropped by and asked me for clarification before putting all this work in. What I meant to say by the above was that unless there are published material (i.e. news articles including impartial reviews, etc.) on this individual, I don't think he meets our inclusion criteria for people which can be read here: WP:BIO. Has anyone written anything about this individual? Is he particularly notable? xenocidic (talk) 18:06, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I will have to ask my friend for more details! She was a somewhat put off when she tried to put the article in! What do you need me to confirm for the article to be included? Ellerdch (talk) 18:45, 13 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the lateness of this reply - I didn't see your message. Quite frankly, I don't think that raymond griffiths is a particularly notable individual. I'm not sure if he satisfies our inclusion criteria. Has anyone ever written an article about him? (In a magazine, a newspaper, etc?). If not, he would not meet our general inclusion criteria that demands the subject has "been the subject of published secondary source material which is reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject". xenocidic (talk) 20:28, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
