Transgender Publications

edit

Wikipedia is not a place to publicize your own projects. I, myself, have five books out, but do not use the encyclopedia to promote them. Unless you can provide citations that your work is notable, it should not be included on the list. Thank you. Czolgolz (talk) 21:35, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, I do not own Wikipedia. I have, however, made nearly 16,000 edits over ten years and am familiar with the policies. Promoting your own memoir does fall under the category of self promotion (see point 4): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox_or_means_of_promotion

OK in that case you should take out most of the books there and publications, manly the ones that doe not exist anymore.

You are correct. A lot of those listed may not meet the notability requirements. I've started a discussion on the talk page, feel free to join in. Czolgolz (talk) 22:02, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have other things to do. Well that will be the end of my donations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.224.162.221 (talk) 22:06, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Anyway, this is supposed to be reference work for all transgender people. Or is Wikipedia not reliable?

Sorry to hear that someone supposes these things. You should suggest that, whoever they are they read should Wikipedia:Notability (people) and Wikipedia:Notability (books). Jim.henderson (talk) 14:00, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
