Welcome! edit

Hello Lisa! I was the one who had originally added more details about your detransition to the detransition page, since you were already mentioned there and I wanted to highlight that you weren't simply a notable detransitioner but a politically active one. I just wanted to say, reading your original positions I could feel the hurt there and was praying one day you could be find yourself and be happy again (couldn't put that on WP though). I'm sorry they got to you, it happens far too often, but seeing your comment and statement I'm incredibly happy for you, not just that you've spoken out against and stopped your pain being used to hurt others but mostly that you're living comfortably as yourself again!!!

I'll help make sure your WP page is updated, and let me know if you need any help in future! TheTranarchist (talk) 00:14, 4 March 2022 (UTC)TheTranarchistReply

Dear TheTranarchist,

Thank you for adding those details and for your efforts to update my page, which is greatly appreciated. I've chosen to speak out publicly now due to the unfortunate things taking place in Texas. Specifically, the misguided effort by Texas politicians to restrict transgender children's access to healthcare and efforts to investigate and prosecute the parents of those children. Seeing that in the news, I realized that there is the distinct possibility that faith-based or right-leaning media outlets would potentially weaponize my story once again to amplify that harm, so I wanted to do what I can to avoid that from happening.ElisaShupe (talk) 01:38, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Just to make sure you saw this. edit

The thing to do if you want to post verified stuff about yourself for WP:ABOUTSELF purposes is probably to post it on your Twitter - we can be reasonably sure about its identity because it's linked in the Daily Signal article from three years ago, and while I don't think the Daily Signal is a great source it is implausible that that would be wrong about something that basic, especially in the context of you using it like this. I can understand being reluctant to touch that account anymore, especially given that it's likely followed by a bunch of people who would be extremely angry to see you change positions, but posting something there and updating your details would be the easiest way to get the word out in a way that is reasonably confirmed. --Aquillion (talk) 00:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear Aquillion,

Thank you for the suggestion, but I can truthfully say that I've had no access to the @notabledesister Twitter account for a couple of years now. Were I able to access it, I would have permanently deleted it a long time ago. I've tried in vain numerous times to contact Twitter and have the account deleted, but to I've received nothing but unhelpful "form" responses. Likewise, Twitter seems to be not following their own policy about deleting accounts which haven't been logged into for six months. Regrettably, when I moved from Florida and changed my phone number, I was unable to update the two-step authentication on the Twitter account because it's been locked since around February 2020 for an infraction. And due to ongoing harassment by gender-critical feminists and their allies, I have no desire to return to Twitter or other social media platforms. My spouse has also been targeted by these individuals. If you and others would like a more formal means of updating my Wikipedia page, such as a media article, I sincerely urge you and these other persons to contact journalists such as Evan Urquhart to interview me. I have no real desire to participate in further media interviews, but if that's what it takes to get the word out, I'm receptive to doing one with a legitimate media outlet. Last, as I mentioned in the post on my talk page, I am perfectly willing to authenticate my identify with a Wikipedia staff member by doing something such as providing a copy of my drivers license.ElisaShupe (talk) 01:50, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey Elisa. I just wanted to let you know I've left two messages here and here on two functionaries talk pages to check into this further. I'm sorry for how long this is taking, and hopefully it won't be too much longer to resolve all of this. Sideswipe9th (talk) 18:10, 12 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
