Use of DEFAULTSORT

edit

Hi. I see you've recently added or amended several categories to articles on EA composers. You may not be aware of the magic word {{DEFAULTSORT:sort key}} which changes the sort order of all following categories in that article to "sort key" – see Wikipedia:Categorization#Sort_key_shortcuts.

So, for example, when there's already a {{DEFAULTSORT:Bayle, François}} definition in an article, it's unnecessary to add the name to the category as [[Category:Electroacoustic music composers|Bayle, François]].

It's also useful to add DEFAULTSORT when you're adding several new categories to an article – it saves typing!

Hope this helps. Smalljim 14:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC) (If you want to reply, please do so here - I'll be watching.)Reply

Thanks for the tip (there are so many options in wiki!); we will "update" our brain! Electrocdwiki 23:09, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? -- Eastmain (talk) 04:03, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of acousmatic-music composers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jacques Tremblay. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
