Steve Connell edit

Please note that the tags are on the article for good reason to notify wikipedia users that the article needs assistance in certain areas. It is not a negatibe thing to have them there, it is of benefit to the article as it alerts other users to help out. The tags are perfectly valid and should only be removed once each issue has been resolved and not before. And I would be gratful if you would stop removing the tags. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I see you have again removed the tags after another user had also restored them. I would ask you in good faith to restore them as you are now getting close to the three revert rule. As I said above the tags are there for good reason and should not simply be removed. If you do not restore the tags they will only end up being restored by someone else and it would be best all round if you self-referted your own edit. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:13, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

With regard to the message which you posted and removed, I understand that you are trying to resolve the issues, but removing the tag is not how to do so. The tags as I said above alerts other users to help out on the article. By removing them you are preventing possible help from other users. I have been keeping an eye on the article and helping improving it and will of course continue to do so, but you need to work with me and others and not as you seem to be doing, and removing the tags.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:17, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I hear ya loud and clear. Anything you can advise me to do so that I can continue to resolve the tagged issues would be wonderful as I am new user. My intention is not to do anything out of the norm and I believe I've made it clear that I am trying to work with everyone and not deviate, so hopefully, we can lay that to rest and get on to making the page passable by everyones standards. Thanks for your help and I look forward to making all changes necessary. Ekweisberg (talk) 18:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

Thank you for the message on my talk page (please note though that message go at the bottom of the pages! :) ) and above. "It seems like these tags are being put up because you feel something is not correct" - not at all, the tags are quite common, especially for new articles as I said, to help improve them. However the first thing you need do is restore the tags. I was going to have a look at the references and then expand them using one of them templates which I will do. There is no huge rush to get things right though, the article will improve as it progresses. There is no massive urgency to get it right straightaway. Just let me help you, by restoring the tags, and then we can work on the article! Have fun.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:24, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

sounds great and thank you for restoring the tags (couldn't figure out how!) i really want to the page to be correct, and tag free and I appreciate your help with it. Ekweisberg (talk) 18:27, 4 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

Aye no worries, just give me time to have a proper look over the article and sources, and we can get the article improved, and the tags will be removed as and when everything gets sorted! I'ts evening time here but I will look at it today.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:35, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

thanks so much, you're the best! Also, I am struggling to upload a picture of Mr. Connell performing, any assistance you might be with that would be enormously helpful. Thanks again for all your help in expediting this process, I am very grateful. Ekweisberg (talk) 18:38, 4 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

Uploading pictures is a "whole different ball game". I have uploaded a few images but it is an area that I'm not really too good on. I do know though that you have to be careful not to upload copyrighted images. If it is an image you took then that is fine so long as you upload it correctly. I will try and find out a user who would be best for advice. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:43, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is something I took, so we're all good there. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Ekweisberg (talk) 21:52, 4 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

OK all done. Quite a bit of work but I have tried to get it all in chronological order and also removed some duplicate content as well as removing some of the wording. I've also added an "infobox" using the actor infobox as probably the one that is most relevant. I've expanded partly where I could from the sources, and added a template for each of the sources. I've also added the correct imdb link in the External links section and moved one of the sources to that section as it is an EL not a source. As you will also see I have removed all but one of the tags, there are though some "fact tags" at various places (where it says citation needed) as that content really does need sources. I had thought of maybe breaking up the career section with two sub-headers, one for his theatre work and one for film and television? Anyway that should now at least give you some idea of how the article should be structured, and I will keep it in my watchlist anyway. One more thing - if you add a picture, add it in in the infobox, on the line where it says image, removing all the content that is currently on that line. Have fun! ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 23:50, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much, this is amazing! I agree that the career should be split into two subheaders and I need to figure out how, but the imdb link is wrong, sending you the Kevin Connoly and not Steve Connell...I tried to add the picture, but it says I have to be a specific kind of user and won't let me know. Do youk now anything about that? Again, thanks so much for all the hard work. I will see if I can find additional sources to make the fact tags go away and I appreciate all the time and attention paid! Ekweisberg (talk) 20:16, 5 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

I added citations and links for every place it said citation needed and hope this clears up any more tags! Also, I keep trying to upload an image (that I own) to no avail...any thoughts on who I might be able to ask for assistance with this? Thanks for all your help. Ekweisberg (talk) 19:18, 9 June 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply

Hey sorry for not getting back to you before, I forgot! I will root out the best person to ask about the imaage and have a look at the citations added! ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:21, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just a quick message about youtube - sorry but youtube isn't a source that can be used to verify content.♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:48, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

OK, this user, User:Small-town hero seems (to me at least and bear in mind I don't know a lot about uploading images) to be a good person to ask and hopefully they won't mind you asking. I think that maybe it is best if you ask them direct on their talk page, rather than me asking them? Good luck! ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 19:55, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think I have cited all the areas that needed to be. How do we remove the final tag for that? Thanks again. Ekweisberg (talk) 05:15, 13 July 2008 (UTC)ekweisbergReply
