Notability

Wikipedia is a project to build an encyclopedia, not a place for people or organizations to "tell the world" about themselves.

The inclusion criterion is called WP:Notability, and is not a matter of talking about "policies, aims, goals and campaigns" but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about?

Experience shows that student clubs can very rarely demonstrate notability in this sense, and are better covered by a (properly sourced) mention within the main University article. Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Ejz123. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Scottish Young Labour, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.
