Speedy deletion of "Talent and production" edit

A page you created, Talent and production, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is obvious advertising or promotional material.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

May 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. One or more of the external links you added in this edit to the page Audition website do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. You may wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Fumitol (talk) 11:21, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Talent and production. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Fumitol (talk) 11:38, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Promotional article edit

I have read your comment at Talk:Talent and production, where you say "I have re-read the article I have written & can't see any promotional value". I suggest you consider the following quotations from what you have written.

  • Continuously developing & adding new exciting features, Talent and Production is an ideal website for all arts & entertainment personnel & enthusiasts.
  • The websites versatility, sophistication & user friendly system has become very popular.
  • A completely free global website which is tailored to performers and production personnel.

The whole article is full of language like these samples. It is the sort of language which is found in marketing material, not in dispassionate treatment such as is suitable for an encyclopedia article. If you do not see this language as promotional then I can only assume you are so closely involved with the subject that you cannot stand back and see it from a distant enough perspective to see how it looks to an impartial observer. If this is the case then you would probably be better off not editing this article, as you are unlikely to be able to give an objective account. You might be better off contributing to other subjects, where you might have less personal involvement.

In addition to the above I suggest you read the guidelines on notability and reliable sources, since the article is likely to be deleted for failing to comply with those standards even if it is rewritten to look less promotional. If you have any questions about these issues please feel welcome to contact me on my talk page. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:43, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Elliott Seller. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Fumitol (talk) 11:44, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Talent and Production edit

A tag has been placed on Talent and Production requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
