Hello, Effron White, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:Effron White and User:Effron White/sandbox, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content protocols, and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. Response to goin’batty edit

Thank you for reviewing the page, goin’ batty. I appreciate any help I can get! Lol Well, Effron isn’t actually writing this article. I’m writing it for him, at Wikipedia’s suggestion. Lauren Blaine is my name. Do I need to publish the article on my page? I thought it had to be done on Effron’s page. Wikipedia has always been confusing to me as far as the rules, etc. I was just glad I was finally making headway! Lol I’ve been writing with just the facts in mind, not writing “rah rah” stuff. How does it look to you as far as that goes? Do I need to write and publish this article in my account? Would that take it out of the speedy delete category?

Thanks again. Lauren Blaine Effron White (talk) 01:08, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

This post makes me suspect that you have misunderstood some aspects of how Wikipedia works. The page User:Effron White is not "Effron's page" – it is the user page connected with this user account, and it should not contain information about Effron White. Another issue: it looks like you are saying that you also have another registered account at Wikipedia – is that correct? Please use only that account for all your editing activities. We are not expected to (or supposed to) create a new account for each article we create. If this is your only registered account, you should request a rename here, since the username policy does not allow for user names that represent a real person who is not the person using the account. (Most of us do not use real names as user names, as you will have noticed. The username policy I linked to just now has some good explanations of why that can be a good idea – though using one's own name is not prohibited.)
Wikipedia biographical articles are not personal pages belonging to anybody, rather, they are articles about people who are notable according to Wikipedia's definition. Articles have to include only factual and neutrally written information that is based on independent published sources. Ideally, articles should always be written and edited by people who have no connection to the subject; you have indicated that you are writing it on White's behalf and that he is your client, and that means you have to read and comply with the policies regarding editing with a conflict of interest, and paid editing (including making the mandatory disclosure described on that policy page). Contested deletion edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because... I’m writing this for Effron White and I’m just now figuring out how to edit the page. My name is Lauren Blaine. The repeated use of his name was a cut and paste editing error on my part. If you can, please look at the newest edit and let me know if it passes the test a little better. If I still need to make changes, I’m happy to do those ASAP. I appreciate your help with it. Lauren Blaine For Effron White --Effron White (talk) 01:15, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Effron White. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 05:46, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
