Frank Buckles
Hi i saw you got Lazare Ponticelli article to FA and i thought you maybe be interested in getting Frank Buckles to FA or GA for his 110th birthday Febuary 1. He is the only living American WWI vetern left. Spongie555 (talk) 05:09, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's fine. And I never tried writing a GA or FA before. I always get distracted trying to make one. Spongie555 (talk) 00:25, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Help would be good as I don't know how to get articles to GA or FA. Spongie555 (talk) 00:53, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- What do you think the article needs left to get it to GA? I know it has somethings wrong but If you can tell me so I can try to fix it Spongie555 (talk) 03:56, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Also how do you archive talk pages? Mine I getting long like you probably noticed. Spongie555 (talk) 23:19, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. - Any progress on this? Ealdgyth - Talk 19:58, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Lavoy Allen
On 9 January 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lavoy Allen, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that, as a junior in 2009–10, Lavoy Allen became the first Temple basketball player to average a double-double since Ollie Johnson accomplished the feat in 1970–71? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Dan Borislow
Hi,
I just started a review of the above for GA. However there is a merge banner on the page which is a quick fail criteria. Has this discussion been resolved. If so the banner should be removed. Jezhotwells (talk) 21:56, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

I approved the DYK hook though I made a suggestion about mentioning in the hook which team the Buff's beat. AgneCheese/Wine 19:28, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

I saw the quality of your contributions at DYK and clicked on over to your user page and was pretty impressed. Would you be interested in helping with the WP:Online_Ambassadors program? It's really a great opportunity to help university students become Wikipedia contributers. I hope you apply to become an ambassador, Sadads (talk) 01:16, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Regarding User:Grandpa jlc/2010--11 Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team
Hi Ed. I am afraid I may have bitten off more than I can currently chew. There must be some sort of script or tool that would help enter the schedule and I figured that was an important first thing to get right. Fine tuning the prose content could wait for more capable and knowledgeable editors. Anyway, I got bogged down trying to type in the schedule by hand and learned I really don't have the time to spend on the article. The reason I embarked on it in the first place is because I was surprised it was not there already, but it looks like I am not the right person to put it there. Perhaps after some more time and additional basic editing opportunities, I will be better suited for such a task as this one. Are you saying I should erase the page in my sandbox? I guess hope springs eternal in terms of sometime getting back to work on it, but if I am causing problems I can remove the page. --Grandpa jlc (talk) 03:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ed, Thanks for creating the 2010–11 Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team article! It looks great. I have placed a request for deletion template on the version in my sandbox space, which I hope is the proper WP procedure. --Grandpa jlc (talk) 16:07, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
