Hello edit

Hello Eddy. For your information, I have redirected the userpage of your old account CamLine Marketing to this account, and I've also marked that old account as abandoned. Good luck with the Cornerstone article. De728631 (talk) 14:29, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Accept reason:

As the original blocker I re-studied the case and decided to unblock the account. Although this name is marginal, it is not outright in violation of the username rules. You have to understand the issues involved with COI editing as discussed below. What happened with the original block is it was not intended for this account. The intent was to block CamlineMarketing, but because that user page was redirected to your new name I did not realize I had been immediately redirected so this account got the block instead. Camline username is now blocked (also abandoned by you per the user talk message). Alexf(talk) 13:38, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 17:11, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello Daniel,

I want to answer your questions and clarify my intentions on Wikipedia as Eddy from camLine.

I informed myself thoroughly on the ideas and standards of Wikipedia as a neutral encyclopedia, in advance:

Nevertheless, it may be that important aspects are not known to me yet. In this case, I ask for constructive help and tolerant understanding. I ask for the chance to improve my knowledge and act, especially where English is not my native language.

  • I do not intend to publish statements about me or my organization on the internet, and certainly not on Wikipedia.
  • I have no intention of making myself or my organization punishable according to the German competition law by commenting or changing entries of market attendants. (Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Covert advertising: 2012 German court ruling)

My activities are limited to the factual documentation of a commercial software product in the public interest that

  • is now on the market for 20 years and has won attention in many industries
  • was born on the campus of the MIT by BBN Technologies and thus has American roots
  • has changed ownership several times and will be continued by camLine

In this context I intend to provide information on Wikipedia that will meet the requirement of a neutral encyclopedia. In my view, Wikipedia's communicated conflict of interest is not yet solved, when I explain hereby that

  • I will not publish any advertising
  • distance myself from contributions of market attendants.

Much more, the problem lies in the necessary technical soundness demanded by Wikipedia (but typically for any other encyclopedia) for such an article.

Here is how I want to solve this dilemma:

  • As a preliminary work before going to my user's sandbox, I voluntary won a professor of statistics from a German university for advise, who took over the supervision of technical correctness and neutrality.
  • Before moving the article from the sandbox to the public Wikipedia article space, I would like to ask the Wikipedia community for review and improvements. That's why I already signed up for the mentoring program.

Eddy, there's nothing wrong with your current username. Jimbo Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, has stated that those with COI should never edit the article directly - but they should propose changes on the article talkpage - how does that mesh with your current plans for article writing? Eddy, I want to make it clear that the username block was for the Camline Marketing name which violates the username rules. Your new requested name is not a problem. Even Eddy at Camline is not a problem as a username. Having a conflict of interest and advertising is a problem. Maybe you should read our "plain and simple conflict of interest guide" and be aware of Wikipedia's Law of Unintended Consequences. -- Alexf(talk) 16:29, 25 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I withdraw my application for change of user name to "Eddy Hugel" edit

After being unblocked again: On Wikipedia EN, I will continue to operate as "Eddy from camLine". I withdraw my request to be renamed to "Eddy Hugel". The current situation is OK for me. Please provide feedback if I should do something on the part of Wikipedia rules.--Eddy from camLine (talk) 08:16, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Adoption edit

Hello, I'm Lixxx235. I wanted to let you know that I removed the "seeking adoption" userbox from your user page, because you haven't been active for at least a month. When you come back to Wikipedia, feel free to add the userbox back with the code {{Adopt me}}. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.
