Welcome edit

Hello, Ecuadorecoadvice, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Dougweller (talk) 17:31, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Lost Pyramid of Puñay edit

I have nominated Lost Pyramid of Puñay, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lost Pyramid of Puñay. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Dougweller (talk) 17:39, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Confirmed as a site of great archaeological importance edit

Nothing? No one's confirmed this? Dougweller (talk) 20:52, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thesis edit

'Thesis' means a lot of things, what was its title, what was the name of the degree it was for? Dougweller (talk) 20:52, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

wow doug your quick, i think ive answered this question on the discussion page for the article before i read this remark. on the PDF i put in the discussion which has a list of all the investigative thesis its under "Egresados de la Escuela de Ingenieria Agronomica" Graduates of the School of Agronomic Engineering, i have no idea what the equivalent degree would be in the English speaking world, maybe something to do with soil science as agronomy suggests, but i guess that explains how he and his team were able to excavate part of the pyramid, test the soil and perform carbon dating etc.

remember i'm not from this country and my Spanish is incredibly average so its quite hard wading through these foreign systems and websites, i am however trying to do the best i can and i am very grateful that you are pushing me to find the best information and sources possible for this article to make sure its accepted and ensuring wikipedias integrity :)

i've removed all references to commercial websites, and found more reliable government websites like this one: http://www.turismo.gob.ec/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=362&Itemid=59 with some great photos and interesting info

i think we have two days before the article is up for review, if you could give me your experienced critique on what more we need to add, what else to look for and to remove, and how we can polish the article a bit more before it goes up for review that would be great :)

and i'm finally getting used to the tilda thingy ;) Ecuadorecoadvice (talk) 23:14, 3 September 2010 (UTC)jake lingReply

Puñay article direction, some suggested sources edit

Hi Jake, now the article's been kept (no consensus to delete), hopefully it can be worked into something whereby the pyramid claims are suitably qualified, in the absence of further corroborating sources. I'm not able to spend much time on it myself right now, but at its talkpage here I have suggested a couple of places where if you or someone else has the time, enquiries could be made to see if any further info can be turned up.
