William Herbert Wallace edit

I proposed undoing some deletions and possible vandalism to William Herbert Wallace, namely NPOVing it generally and reinstating changes prior to revision 159617289.

Status:

  • keeping added NPOV in para 2 done
  • reinstating headers done
  • s/her/their/ again done
  • reinstate "officially unsolved" done
  • restoration and linkification of JG book reference done
  • refactoring of RW 1980 reference done
  • unsure: naming of the principal alternative suspect (who apparently died in ~1981) done: with refactored references and Popular Culture section, given that the finger was pointed only in print and in a TV series, and not by the Police.

Re: Cleanup thanks, delete wars on William Herbert Wallace? edit

No problem! :) I looked a bit at the vandalism, and we got 3 options: either we restrict editing from the whole BT network, or we disable anonymous editing on the article for a short while, or we moan and revert the unwise fool. To be honest I don't think the 2 first solutions are a good idea (the first one because it affects thousands of innocent people, and the second one because the idiot isn't comming often enough for a short block to be effective). That leaves us option 3 (as usual, might I add). I added the page on my watchlist so I'll keep half an eye on the article, but if you catch the user red handed (i.e. less than a few hours after the vandalism), leave a note on WP:AIV explaining the situation and an admin will probably block the IP for 24 hours. Usually vandals are less persistent than us and get bored before we are :). -- lucasbfr talk 23:11, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Richard Gordon Parry edit

Hi, I can't really comment in the article without breaking WP:NOR etc. Why don't you come over to YoLiverpool where there is a good discussion about the case, and in particular, my theory. RodCrosby (talk) 21:51, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
