Minneapolis edit

Hello. Does Minneapolis, Minnesota look all right to you? Please pardon this form letter that is going to about a dozen people whose user name I recognize from some Wikipedia edit (could have been recent or in the past year). I expect to close peer review by nominating Minneapolis to featured article candidate in a day or two unless other editors have more work they'd like to do. In case the links help, places to make a difference are to edit in place, comment in the peer review, comment on the talk page, support or oppose when and if it gets to featured article candidate, or work on a child article linked from the following template. -Susanlesch 23:57, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Minneapolis-DowntownWestNeighborhood.PNG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Minneapolis-DowntownWestNeighborhood.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:NewHopeHennepin.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 21:29, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Metric edit

I watch the Orono and Maple Plain articles. You put a new infobox on those pages. I can't figure out how to have the box display imperial measurements first. Do you know how to do that? I think Imperial gets the nod over metric. Thank you. Nanabozho 17:26, 18 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Singles. Period. The Vinyl Years 1980–1990 edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Singles. Period. The Vinyl Years 1980–1990, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.theex.nl/disco/singles.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 23:03, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry about it and remove the template. CSBot is, after all, just a dumb program and it noticed a copy without being able to tell this was obvious fair use. You needn't worry, since CSBot tags are reviewed by humans, not automatically deleted, and humans are usually smarter than the bot about these things.  :-) — Coren (talk) 23:26, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of City Hall (Kansas City) edit

A tag has been placed on City Hall (Kansas City) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. School of Journalism at Indiana University edit

A tag has been placed on School of Journalism at Indiana University, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. North Minneapolis Wiki edit

Hi, I'm trying to contact wiki editors who'd like to help with a Wiki project for North Minneapolis. It is only in it's beginning stages and could use the help of veteran wiki editors to get it going.

The reason for the project is to help connect people to the pleathora of resources and history that exist in North Minneapolis. The potential for this site to be used by non-profits, librarians, teachers and others to help connect neighbors to community resources could be huge. It would also be a way to document the positive stories and efforts in North Minneapolis,

I've chosen to build the site at [1] primarily because wikispaces has the only easy to use visual editor for a wiki site that I could find.

If you have any thoughts or input on the project feel free to contact me. [2]

Image:MinneapolisNeighborhoodsAndCommunities edit

On what basis did you make this map? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:MinneapolisNeighborhoodsAndCommunities.PNG It looks like a lot of work, but some of the groupings (e.g., Camden including Fowell and Clevland) don't line up with everyday understanding of people who live on the North Side (excluding recent transplants looking for QueenAnnes). Did you compile these groupings, e.g., from a reference, or did you make them up yourself? Thanks. LaughNowMurderLatter (talk) 04:26, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Maps edit

So I would like to propose a new NRP style map to replace your beautiful maps (ie: Image:MinneapolisProspectParkNeighborhood.PNG) that at least orientates the viewer (downtown), and shows some minor geography (the river, topo texture?). I'd like to ask you to do it but perhaps could I just do it myself and upload over your image? I'd hate to create a whole new set. davumaya 16:56, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Pizza Lucé edit

A tag has been placed on Pizza Lucé requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) ] 16:29, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your Rationale edit

I would like to hear your rationale behind the many television station redirects. Personally I don't find them necessary as they wouldn't be likely search terms. One would likely search for WTKR by searching "WTKR" not CBS Hampton Roads. But I would like to hear your side on why you created the redirects. - NeutralHomerTalk • 02:42, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category for stuff located _IN_ the Phillips Community edit

I'm updating a page for a location within Phillips Community, and I would like to attach a Category tag to it for Phillips, but NOT do so in a way that makes it seem like my location is a neighborhood. How do I create such a category? The next logical step would be to duplicate this for ALL of the communities and/or neighborhoods. LP-mn (talk) 02:43, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
