Elaine Paige - Congratulations!

Congratulations on promotion of the article. Let me know if you do another musical theatre GA or FA project, and I'll be glad to do some proofreading. All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Seems just fine. All the info is there and the article is sharper and more organized. 71.112.185.78 (talk) 13:21, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I think it has all of the stuff from before, only the language seems to have been compacted. I don't think it really needs a revert. It does look neater and limits a few of the rambling details on the page. What we need is a picture - maybe (with permission) from Flickr? Thanks. Busillis (talk) 15:53, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your post on TFA page

I'd be grateful if you actually read the discussion on template utility. Sandy, likely unintentionally, misrepresented my position. As it happens, I proposed deleting the lower of two articles on the template for the same day. Sandy shot it down, saying she "saw no reason" for it. Accordingly, what she said to you wasn't correct.--Wehwalt (talk) 20:01, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

edit

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Thanks for catching that. I'd thought I was removing the text; unfortunately, it wasn't far enough back. That Sun story has led to rumours being repeatedly added to Tate, Donna Noble, Master (Doctor Who) and several other articles. Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 18:36, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ladette to Lady.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ladette to Lady.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Jejoice - Jenkins.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

GA reassessment of Anna Wintour

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns with the article which you can see at Talk:Anna Wintour/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 13:30, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I understand her comments were sourced. I just feel that on personal matters like those two points (not having kids, not reading reviews), I just tend not to necessarily believe the things people say about themselves. It's not really a big deal, though. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 17:51, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
