Orphaned non-free image File:Windows 8 Milestone 3.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Windows 8 Milestone 3.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 16:58, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

File:Win2000.png edit

Hello, ELeschev and welcome to Wikipedia.

I see that you are quite new around here, so you may not be familiar with how things are: Wikipedia takes copyright laws very seriously and has set a deliberately-more strict restriction on the use of non-free contents, including but not limited to copyright-protected images. In regard to Windows 2000 screenshot, Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria policy states:

So, although you might love using 1024×768 image, you must not. 500×375 is quite enough for the use rationale provided with the image.

If you have a question or objection, please feel free to call me. I love helping. Fleet Command (talk) 13:15, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
