Hail and well met. Yea, I don't understand why these people don't add "uses in crime" sections to every article on cars, screwdrivers, sticks, crowbars, hammers, rocks, or any other object that humans have been using to make one another miserable for the last 10,000 years. Why are some people so terrified of the idea of private firearms ownership? Crazy people happen. The more humans you stuff into crowded urban conglomerations, the more crazy folks there will be. There were probably several points in that poor, young man's life where he could have been redirected from his tragic fate. That ship has sailed and the loss diminishes us all. To demonize a tool and glorify a crime to promote a political agenda that sees one's fellow citizens as criminal, dim-witted, and untrustworthy unless they happen to work for the state is just wrong. Gotta go make groceries. Cheers. L0b0t 16:58, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nice to meet you as well, L0b0t. I believe the biggest problem with gun crime in crowded inner cities is directly caused by the War on Drugs. Gun control will not work with or without the Drug War in place. Take away the black market for drugs by legalizing them and setting their prices low enough to put the dealers out of business instead of arresting or shooting them, and the crime problem will go away. Treat abusers (note I do not say users) as patients instead of criminals to be caged up, and the health problems will be minimized. Keep in mind some drugs have a wide gap between use and abuse, such as marijuana; while others have a very short one, like crack cocaine. The way to deal with the narrow-gap drugs is to make it okay to use wide-gap drugs. Legalizing marijuana will accomplish this. It will also have a similar impact on alcohol consumption. From personal experience, marijuana makes one want to put away the guns and make peace, while other drugs have no or the opposite effect. E. Sn0 =31337= 22:16, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spammer edit

I'd rather not block 64,000 IP addresses for longer than 3 hours or so, and this has been going on for most of the day (by the looks of it, anyway). It's probably better to just protect the articles being spammed. Which ones do you need protected? -- Steel 21:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ack, by the way. It's a Polish DSL provider, depending on its market share a range block might block half of Poland. Femto 11:51, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Excellent idea; the articles bittorrent, peer-to-peer, azureus, bittorrent client, emule, and bittorrent tracker. Thank you. E. Sn0 =31337= 22:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've protected the first two and Internet. The others I've just watchlisted (and will keep an eye on) because they haven't been hit much. -- Steel 23:01, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

This spammer is persistent enough to be blacklisted. I have proposed torrentmania.info at m:Talk:Spam blacklist. You may add more evidence there if you want, though the case seems clear enough. Femto 11:33, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

First off, watch where you sign your posts. You accidentally damaged one of my talk page subheaders. Secondly, and more importanyly, your POV is one of prejudice and hate due apparently to a simple 'ick factor'. Get over it. There are things in this world which will disgust anyone, yet only the most loudmouthed Fundies and other bluenose censors call for its banning or deliberate loss of knowledge. These people have very few friends, and for good reason. They want us thrown back to an Age of Innocence that never existed anywhere but in their own minds. That kind of simple-minded unilateralist idealism is very similar to that afflicting the President of my country, with the result that five hundred thousand people were killed by it. Remember, the Holocaust started with a mere idea that something which isn't harmful in itself should be violently eliminated due to PERCEIVED harm that really didn't exist! E. Sn0 =31337= 19:32, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
uh what does that have to do with anything?--EliteMike 19:36, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good idea Steel; this boy has no intention of ever learning to think outside his own extremely restrictive box. Oh well, glad it's not I who builds his own mental prison with religion, but I'll be DAMNED if he thinks he can enforce his worldview on us, particularly one he shows is broken! E. Hi, after taking a quick look at your user page, I've just gotta say that you're one of the most awesome people I've ever seen on WP. And it seems we have similar opinions on just how screwed up wikipedia can be.

Borrowed Your Userboxes edit

I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed your anti-anon (registration required for edits) userbox and your anti gun control user box. BTW, I also live in SA. Do you know where I can pick up a user box that is anti "marriage = 1 man + 1 woman"? Also I agree with your comments about WikiPedia bro, but think about it .... racists, homophobes, and dumb asses have taken their POVs into cyberspace. That's where we need to be too. WP is a major battlefield right now and WP has given us the tools to counter attack (albeit passively) and put these guys on the defensive. If we do it right, we can win quite a few battles and pave the way for others. Thanks —Chicaneo 08:45, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Borrow as many userboxen as you want. I don't know about how to go about finding that userbox you want, but I believe it exists. As for my WP comments, there does appear to be a bit of a cabal within the Admins group. My friend Alyeska has been the target of a witch hunt recently by this 'cabal'. That's what caused my comments about WP. Racists, homophobes, and assholes most certainly do not have the high ground on the Internet, as evidenced by this last election (Youtube, anyone?). Wikipedia's a good tool for attacking these fools, but we have whole arsenals where they have maybe only IMs, crackpot forums, and email. We are winning battles every day; now all we need to do is render those we lose redundant. |||||| E. Sn0 =31337Talk to me :D 20:12, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Exactly! I'm sorry to hear about your friend being victimized. Hope he doesn't give in or give up. Say, could you help me out with a little battle of my own? I am trying to have the Elvira Arellano article deleted. The article is about a very recent news topic about Elvira Arellano, an illegal immigrant, who is hiding out in an effort to not be deported. It is being used on the illegal immigrant site to support arguments as to why illegal immigration is "bad" and illegals are "bad people". Now, illegal immigration is a big problem, but from my standpoint, if every illegal who tried to outrun the law got their own article, then WP would be overrun with articles about fugitive illegals. This kind of shit is made for TV - -America's Most Wanted maybe. The read between the lines issue is that an agenda of hate is being promoted here, and it is accomplished by inundating WP with negative articles about the target of the month. This month it's illegals and Mexican-Americans, next month it might be Jews, the next month gays & lesbians, and so on. We can not allow that agenda to move forward in cyberspace. So what I am asking is that you take a look at the Elvira Arellano article, and if you agree, could you please click on the link at the top of the page to vote this article out based on the fact that it is not notable. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Thanks, –Chicaneo 20:42, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hey! Something great has happened. A group of users has taken the Elvira Arellano article and turned it into a big civil rights issue. They've cleaned up the article and are promoting this lady's cause instead of letting her be a scape goat for hatred!!! WOW - I suppose if I asked you to vote now it would be to keep the article. Thanks, Chicaneo 20:52, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah crap, I already voted... |||||| E. Sn0 =31337Talk to me :D 21:46, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh well, shit happens! Thanks anyway - Chicaneo 02:29, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Personal attacks edit

Your work reverting vandalism is greatly appreciated, but please don't make personal attacks in the edit summaries. It's against Wikipedia policy. This essay tries to explain why it's a bad idea. TomTheHand 02:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandal edit

I was checking into a common vandal's contributions history, and saw that he's been at it again lately; since you left a couple of warnings on his talk page I thought you might want to follow up and possibly get his IP blocked (I'm still a little fuzzy on how that's done).
