I have also stared working in Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians. I have added an image there 2 hours ago. (see the candle image). Do you think the image is okay there? I also want to make some major changes in that page, I have proposed in talk page of that article! I am also interested (in next few months) to start a semi-project on Project Barnstar - i.e. Media Barnstar - where user's will be able to/can add a voice message or small video clip (the way we do video chat) and add it with the barnstar. So, the barnstar will look like:

Good add and it's clear - interesting point. Can you keep an eye out for anything concerning her computer skills? I don't believe I've ever seen a film with a female computer geek as the lead (usually a male such as in "The Matrix") - I think this film potentially has some "firsts" if we could find write-ups on them. Chronology Collapsed Table

edit

Hi,
I have created the table below. I found such a table in foreign person's (the article was a GA). I wish to add this chronology table at the end of Swami Vivekananda article. By default the table will be collapsed, as you can see below. Please have a look. --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 17:10, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reply

edit

It was a very tiring work, took more than 4 hours to create the table (information gathering, double checking information, formatting) etc. Anyway, see Winston Churchill, they have used a similar collapsed table at the end "Ancestors", but that article is one of the best' articles in Wikipedia English. BTW, I have not added it in section, please see Swami Vivekananda and add the Chronology in a section (I mean, please write the section header), and if needed relocate somewhere. --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 17:44, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Bangalore

edit

Hello Dwai, I believe you are quite interested and experienced in Indian cities, hence I wished to ask for a favour. The Bangalore article, at present is an FA, though having a bad lead. It needs a summary of the history section. I prepared a draft for it : "Bangalore has been ruled by many South Indian dynasties in the medieval ages after 1000 AD. It became a major city after the establishment of the Vijayanagara empire under Kemegowda. Later, Islamic and Maratha kingdoms occupied the region in and around the city, passing it to Hyder Ali in 1759 and his son, Tipu Sultan. The British colonists dominated the city thereafter, before merging it with the Mysore kingdom and soon the Indian state of Karnataka. After Independence, the city grew rapidly and remains as an important economic hub in South India." Do you think its fine? If not, and if any changes are needed, please let me know. Refernce Styling

edit

Hi Dwaipayan, didn't you just mention this on Kahaani Talk page, "Not to use any publisher name for newspaper." Following that I changed all "publisher" parameter to "newspaper" where Cite-News is used. But I see you've reverted it back. I'm a little confused again. "Publisher" parameter applies only to Cite-Web right? and hence in the "Zee News" references cited as Cite-News, "newspaper" was used instead of "publisher." Do we have to change the template to Cite-Web for all such references? --Msrag (talk) 05:58, 10 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Microcosm Macrocosm! AWB!

I have finally found a reference for Vivekananda's dreams/vision on Microcosm and Macrocosm. see here. Will it be okay? And AFAIR, we deleted the portion from article, since we did not get any reference at that time. Cam you remember in which portion we had information on these vision? I have searched in WikiBlame (but, I can't use that properly). In addition are you an AWB user? My third attempt to execute AWB in Ubuntu is unsuccessful, I last tried in December last year! Using AWB in Linux is little bit different than using AWB in Windows. I can use AWB in Windows without any trouble. In Ubuntu (Linux), you have own software center, that means you don't need to download softwares by searching in internet, you can easily download from software center where you have thousands of software suggestions and also search option. AWB is by default Windows software (that means it is not compatible to Linux), you need to a special frame which is created by Wine (a software) to install it (or any Windows compatible software) in Linux. That's how I have installed many Windows sw in Linux, but the problem is Wine can not recognize AWB as .exe file! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 04:43, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
No, I am/was/{will} (not) {be} going to be) an Engineer/Software professional! Work done

edit

In the FAC of Ra.One, I believe your biggest concern was the matter of references. Even I admit, there were quite a number of inconsistencies in them. I have combed through the article and standardized the references, and I have also used sentence case in all the refs. Now I am going to put a burden on you : could you please review the references one last time, and see if its alright? That would be one more tick in my list, before I re-nominate the article on April 26. Cheers, and thanks in advance. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 16:36, 15 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Magazine names are supposed to be italicized? Does that include Stardust and Filmfare?
  • Mid-Day was the actual source; NDTV was the publisher.
  • The publishing website is Indiatimes.com. hence the name. Indiatimes is a source for TOI and a few other related newspapers, hence solely TOI should not be used.
  • I was hoping you could clarify what "p.u." means; nothing seems to be coming up in the actual reference.

~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 16:56, 15 April 2012 (UTC)'Reply

Um, Dwai, even News channels like NDTV and CNN-IBN have to be italicized because the main criterion is not whether they are newspapers or websites, but whether they have an offline medium or not. Television is an offline medium, hence TV channels should be italicized. Regards, Secret of success 05:24, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dwaipaync, more corrections have been made. Take a look. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 08:09, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

SoS, no TV channel names are not to be italicised. Please have a look at italics. TV channels are considered as "publishers", and TV programs as "work". So, TV channel does not need italics.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Corrections made, except for one: there is nothing incorrect in the Mid-Day and In.com part. Mid-Day is the work, In.com is publisher. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 14:42, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I would be very happy if you utilize a little more effort and instead of just stating the problematic references, you can add the reference number as well. Working with just the reference name is difficult, and I would appreciate it if you would do this little thing, as there are a few other areas of concern in the article. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 10:10, 20 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Done most of them. A few clarifications :-
  • Reference 117 has been replaced.
  • Don't understand your Lehren comment for reference 262. The publisher is Mid-Day as far as I can see.
  • Koimoi is considered reliable. Rather, Komal Nahta is considered reliable. He is a reputed trade analyst.

Though, I could not find any official notification in their website.[1] [2] (I have seen in today's The Telegraph t2 even) It is a welcome from the earlier 4 categories that existed for movies. Hi. When you recently edited Tripura, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kuki (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Dwaipayanc you are an active contributor of West Bengal and Kolkata article. Therefore I would request to you please have a look at Mamata Banerjee article because its been badly written by IP hoppers. Particularly the "top section" and "dictatorial section", so pls make some heavy changes to the article. Thanks--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 11:06, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've clarified some of the stuff you pointed out in post-production. Unfortunately, no proper wikilink exists for digital pipeline (though there is a Digital Pipeline, but that's not the one being talked about). In all probability, the Filming section may get split and a new Cinematography section will come up, as a means of both reducing the overly-long Filming section and utilizing the content unraveled by Pandolin. So more developments on the way. Have you gone through the other sections yet? Please go through the Marketing part and see if there are any problems there, as I have had very little hand in making those sections and hence won't be too familiar with possible flaws. Cheers. ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 09:02, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi,   Done with almost all the pointed sources, the remaining sources can be replaced accordingly, Shall we proceed for other issue or copy editing. :) Regards --Omer123hussain (talk) 23:56, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your advices, Yes Wigan and Leigh college, is of importance in the field of fashion technology, Its a good idea to add some important colleges (National Police Academy etc..) in education section.
  • How is it if we start a new section "Health Care" as Hyderabad have some really good hospitals and attract handsome amount of Int Medical tourists.
  • Meanwhile as advised, I will request with SOS as since long we had not heard from him at Hyderabad, India, infact Abhishek and Qwarentine can also help us for copy editing.
  • If possible may you please check authenticity of all those 15 new RS which I had replaced with URS.:) --Omer123hussain (talk) 08:28, 25 April 2012 (UTC), --Omer123hussain (talk) 08:28, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kolkata new edits

edit

I have reverted back a few good faith edits from the Kolkata article as the editor has added lots of images and it was a bit messy with just one or two line paragraphs. Kindly check if it was a right decision. Apart from that, the images from the History section is flowing into the next section, i tried to fix it but could not mend it. Is it showing properly on your computer (I am on Firefox with Win7 and a 22 inch screen). Amartyabag TALK2ME 15:26, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, just trying to do by bit for something that I am really passionate about. The Kahaani article looks good now. I personally loved the film, especially Vidya Balan; she's remarkable. I think that we can look for an FA only after the award cycle ends early next year. Smarojit (talk) 04:45, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
I completely agree with you. Now that I am working on the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham article, its difficult for me to come up with sources, because there are hardly a few (barring a book written by Niranjan Iyenger on the making of the film). And wow, I just realised that you were the one who has written the Pather Panchali article. I must say that it is amazing! Excellent work. Actually, its my dream to work on several Satyajit Ray's film articles, such as Charulata, Seemabaddha and such. But then again, don't have many sources at hand. Hi, Thanks for your motivation and guidance, it is all your advices which I am applying. Yes really "National Family Health Survey" helped a lot, and I was shocked to see in-depth details in that report. Now I hope we shall expand "Media" and trim "Culture" sections, then we can start copy editing and sources coding correction if needed, whats your advice. How about this page # 8, it also says 12000-14000, but private hospitals figures are different like 300 private hospitals and 194 nursing homes.

So please advice, based on this and above source shall we mention 50 government hospitals 300 private hospitals and 194 nursing homes and all together provides the bed space of about 12000-14000.

these 4000 are private OP clinics. :)Regards--Omer123hussain (talk) 16:42, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Under Option -> Advanced settings, set a rule like - find as {{WP India |class=Stub |importance= |auto=yes }} and replace as {{WP India |class=Stub |importance=low |andhra=yes |andhra-importance=low |geography=yes |geography-importance=low }} for an andhra geo stub. After this, click on start. You can use skip option 'no changes are made' so that it loads continously and stops only when the rule is met. Click on save after ensuring the importance, the next page will be loaded. Ssriram mt (talk) 03:32, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Do you see the green and yellow portions there - green indicates the possible changes. You can type and edit the importance if you feel it is worth mid or high, else click on save. The green and yellow is the preview and you have to click on save each time only after preview. It will save and subsequently load the next occurence. Also note you can set varrious rules matching stub templates.
The drop down just gives the summary of your save - you can set whicever you feel relevant.Ssriram mt (talk) 04:03, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

regarding "wrong edits regarding WP India tags"

edit

Hi, I removed WP-India tags for "redirection" pages ["NH27" was redirected to "National_Highway_27" - rated article; "Indian Pickles" - redirected to "South Asian pickle"-rated article etc.,]. and non relevant pages like [Lapparentosaurus(Dinosaur in Madagascar), Samudra gupta(Bangladeshi poet), Jackal or Tiger(a Story, not related to places in India or anything related to India), Natalvar (related to WP-Ayyavazhi)] Only these type of articles i have removed WP-India tags. I hope this is correct. After studying the article only, i decide for class/importance etc., Anyhow, i won't remove tags further for any article.Rajaram Sarangapani (talk) 08:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry - i missed out on the note and just saw it. If the yellow/green doesnt appear, it means the rule is not met for the particular page. First open the page by clicking start - copy the whole of the tag from {{WP India till the closing brace. Put this in the rule box on find and in replace, give the modified one. Now go back to the start tab and click on start. The page will be reloaded with the yellow and green. If you feel the rule/rules are good enough, skip the pages by clicking on 'No changes are made' - it will keep loading until you hit the rule. Mail me back if you still have issues - please send me the screenshot. Ssriram mt (talk) 11:25, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
