License tagging for Image:PicoIsland.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:PicoIsland.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Igreja de São João

edit

I think the problem that happened here is actually associated with some category confusion at Wikimedia Commons. On that site, there were no indications of the location of Igreja de São João on image imported from Wikipedia. Another user, who had taken similar pictures of that church, identified it as the church of São João on the island of Terceira (Praia da Vitória specifically). I obviously assumed that the images were incorrectly labeled, and removed them from the content of the São João Parish article. I will remedy that, but reintroducing the pictures to the article: I was actually disappointed when I removed the images, since they provided more relation information to the article. Appreciate you advising me of my error. Ruben JC (Zeorymer) (talk) 09:11, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Olá Sr. Dutra. I rectified the problem in both English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. The imagery in Wikimedia Commons was, as I mentioned, badly categorized (on my part). I have moved the Wikimedia content to "Category:São João (Lajes do Pico)" and "Category:Churches in Lajes do Pico (Azores)", and returned the content to the parish article in English Wikipedia.
