Larry Crane (guitarist) edit

There is a complicated situation here: when material is merged, as happened with your AfC version and the pre-existing article, we have to be careful under the license terms to maintain attribution, i.e. credit the authors, for the merged material. Sometimes this can be done by merging the histories, but if the two versions have developed in parallel, as here, that isn't possible. I was the administrator who deleted the AfC version as no longer required, and I have been asked at User talk:Dcshank#Larry Crane whether we ought to do something to preserve attribution for your work there. Having looked at the histories, it seems to me that all of the content in the current article which came from the AfC version was added by you in three edits on 19 December, so that the record of those edits in the history provides the necessary attribution to you, and we do not need to preserve the AfC version. I'm just writing to check that you are happy with this - please comment at User talk:Dcshank#Larry Crane. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:51, 3 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
