Request reason:
I am a legal heir of Triloki Nath Chaturvedi and wish to edit the current page which has his name mis-spelled, as well is missing key information. On behalf of his family I wish to manage the information in his biography as we are best able to provide correct information. The current page does NOT accurately reflect his life and interests. Thanks! Dunearrakis (talk) 12:58, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You are not blocked, as you have successfully edited. You being a legal heir gives you no special rights to the article- in fact, you have less due to the conflict of interest. Please review that policy. You should propose edits on the article talk page, Talk:T. N. Chaturvedi, in the form of an edit request(click for instructions). Any changes you propose must be sourced to independent reliable sources; your word or private family information is not an appropriate source(for verification purposes). 331dot (talk) 13:36, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

editHello, I'm DinosaurTrexXX33. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, T. N. Chaturvedi, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dinosaur TrexXX33 (chat?) 13:49, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at T. N. Chaturvedi shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 331dot (talk) 13:57, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Dunearrakis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 13:55, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi,
- I appreciate the clarification. I am a totally new user. I am not starting an edit war. Simply adding information to the wiki page, merging it with existing page. And trying to figure out how to get edits in.
- Lets do a simple one -- My father's name is NOT Tirloki but Triloki. Presumably it was taken from a citation which is incorrect. How do I correct this before I go further ? How can I point you to a citation for this ?
- Next, his date of birth is incorrect -- again presumably from some reference. How do I fix that ?
- My other edits are simply additional information rounding out the limited information in the wiki.
- Help ! No disrespect intended or implied. Dunearrakis (talk) 14:14, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- We want to hear about any errors in the article(not a "wiki page"). However, you should not make these changes yourself. Please read about how to make a formal edit request and then visit the article talk page, Talk:T. N. Chaturvedi to make your request. In your request, you should detail the specific changes that are needed, and offer an independent reliable source to support them. 331dot (talk) 14:19, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- I have removed the date of birth as it doesn't seem to have a source. If you have a reliable source with his date of birth, please offer it on the talk page. 331dot (talk) 14:27, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
