Yeah I have considered it, if only to bring another admin into ITN for updating purposes, but have always been put off by the RFA process. I am a big fan of WP:NOBIGDEAL and feel that RFA's focus on jumping through hoops and answering hordes of questions has harmed the project by driving away potential candidates. However I am open to the idea of running for adminship and would give it a go if someone nominated me - Dumelow (talk) 10:25, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm waiting to hear from someone else about the same thing but that wouldn't necessarily affect it anyway. When would be a good week to do it? No probs regarding keeping the thread together. I would appreciate a nomination. It would perhaps be better to put it off for a month or so as I recently had two or three months off (combination of lots of uni work and actual work amongst other things) so there is a big gap in my contributions. I also want to get back into article creation (I have a few sandbox articles on the go at the moment) before I do anything else. The month would also give me time to check out the admin's reading list and try to get my head around some WP policies. Ah, any work on any African history article is appreciated, Ghana is as good as any. I had got it into my head that you were only interested in the east coast. Well any topic related to Portuguese East Africa really, Sofala I'd like to see improved, I noticed that books has a a fair bit about Sofala, but any work on any African history is great! Re: AfD Q3

I'm surprised you've managed to work on so many ITNs and still avoid big conflicts for so long! I've only done two ITNs, but both were pretty controversial topics and attracted so much craziness that, especially for the first one, I didn't sleep for days. Yeah, I can see why those articles have the potential for conflict. I guess I have just been lucky in not encountering anything too bad. If it all goes wrong at any stage I find that stepping back and realising that this is, in fact, just a website and not the "be all and end all" of life helps.
