Actually i think you will find that she did not fail the weight against julie kedzie. you can actually hear in the youtube video the guy that's weighting them say that if she took off the skirt she was wearing she would make weight, kedzie just said it would'nt be necessary. plus in the stats box you always put the weight at wich they fight not the one they weight in, otherwise you would have to change it constantly. the only exeption is the heavyweights. but if you research other fighter you will see that is the comon practice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ichibod (talkcontribs) 14:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Steve Mazzagatti

edit

I'm still pretty new to Wikipedia and this was the first one I've created, but I thought he would be a significant person? My google search returned 1080 results, and I see him on TV all the time. Is the article okay?

Only about 200 unique google hits, so probably not notable. Look at WP:BIO to see if he meets that guidleine. I'll look at the article once I finish figuring out what I'm doing. Hope that helps.00:38, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I see he's the ref. Probably not notable. Check out WP:BIO and see if he qualifies. Use the {{{hangon}}}tag and leave a note on the article's discussion page to buy time.Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim
But Herb Dean and John McCarthy (referee) are both referees too so I thought it would be okay? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dumbwhiteguy777 (talkcontribs) (moved to bottom for better flow Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 00:52, 20 October 2006 (UTC))Reply
They get more a lot more google hits. It looks like an admin has deleted already.Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 00:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
If you really feel the deletion is in error, and the subkect does meet WP:BIO read WP:DRV and appeal the deletion there. Hope that helps.Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 00:58, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've been meaning to create stubs for MMA referees, as you may have seen on the Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mixed_martial_arts page. Are you sure this has been deleted on the grounds of notability, rather than it not meeting the minimum standards of a new stub? Crazyknight 09:29, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

There are no minimal standards for a new stub. It was nominated, in good faith, based on a lack of assertion of meeting WP:BIO and failing Google. The sad thing is I can't tell which Admin deleted it so that you can ask him/her to reconsider. Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 12:28, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
IMO, no professional referee can pass WP:BIO, certainly not based on the Google test. Crazyknight 17:38, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do me a favour

Add the article to my talk page so I can have a look. We'll fight them on the beaches. Crazyknight 11:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks for the article. I've pretty much scrapped my plans to add articles for MMA referees. Mazzagatti is one of NSAC's top referees and if he fails on WP:NOT then Mario Yamasaki will, as well as lots of others I had plans for. John McCarthy is one of the faces of the UFC so easily passes but I don't know why Herb Dean passes. I started the article myself and it has yet to be flagged for deletion on notability. I'm going to remove the article off my talk page but please don't be offended. Crazyknight 10:47, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
