Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Dulanjana.silva. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Dhammika Perera, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MPS1992 (talk) 19:25, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

April 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  DMacks (talk) 12:55, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

2nd chance please as I wasn't aware that you can't make too many changes on a profile Dulanjana.silva (talk) 08:48, 15 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

That isn't why you were blocked. The reason is given above; additionally, the block log states that you were blocked for copyright violations and possible undisclosed paid editing. You will need to address these reasons. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 11:08, 15 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I also received an email with the same unblock request. I support this decline. DMacks (talk) 14:35, 15 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

the edit I made on the following page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhammika_Perera was not a conflict of interest as the profile was created by us and we had problems with an user changing the picture on the profile to an outdated picture of the person and inserting the following statements [[{{he owns one of 50 limited edition Bentley Mulsanne Hallmarks.[3][4]}}]]. on a different note there are more changes that need to be edited on this profile as Template:Dhammika Perera is not the director of the companies stated now. If I cannot be unblocked could the following changes on this profile be edited by you, if it was added on this talk page? We infact spoke to Wikipedia and they temporarily blocked this profile so that no changes could be done for awhile by that particular user and when I tried editing again we got blocked.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yunshui  13:01, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
