Welcome edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted.   I have copied the information you put in the article "Dsr2008" into your user page, because that is the best place for information about you. The page "Dsr2008" will be deleted. Follow the links in the "Welcome" paragraph above to find out more about contributing to Wikipedia. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:36, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I deleted the page because it is not about a notable subject, per Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Also, see JohnCD's comment above. --RobertGtalk 17:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was pleased by your message - I have sent that "welcome" to hundreds of new users and very few of them have thanked me as you did. Thank you. One more piece of advice: when you leave a message on a user page, it is a good thing to sign it by putting four "tilde" characters ~ at the end like this ~~~~. The system automatically turns them into your user-name plus the time and date, so that the person who gets the message knows who it is from - like this: JohnCD (talk) 22:54, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
