Request reason:

I was blocked for three reasons and I will explain why I think I should be unblocked for each one:

Harassing TigerScientist - We have talked about this at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:TigerScientist#I_need_your_help and he agrees that it is not harassment. On his userpage, there is an infobox that says "Slap me with a trout if necessary. Go ahead; whack away!" Even the trout and whale say it is not meant to be taken seriously.

Faking another users signature - I am truly sorry for impersonating another user, however I believe this one offence only deserves a warning and not a block, and I am happy to take a warning for this.

Using multiple accounts under the same IP - I did not know this was against the rules until I was blocked from it, but from now on, I will no longer use the account Dreamboat1234 or and I will just use my IP - I am happy for Dreamboat1234 to stay blocked if my IP gets unblocked.

Furthermore, there have been reports of the user CLCStudent (the one giving me warnings) of just assuming every IP edit is vandalism. This breaks rule 2 of WP:NOPUNISH

Request reason:

I was having a conversation with Rosguill about getting unblocked. I would like to know why my previous block appeal was denied and how to continue my conversation with Rosguill. My reasons are the same as above and I am really sorry for evading my block. This is how I was blocked: Me and TigerScientist were having a bit of fun trouting and whaling each other. There is a userbox on his userpage saying that he likes to be trouted and the trout itself says 'Such material is not meant to be taken seriously'. He has clarified that it is just a bit of fun. This all happened on my IP. I was then blocked on my IP and I was also blocked from editing my talk page there. I submitted an appeal on UTRS but they said that I didn't explain everything in my block appeal. So I logged in on this account to try to explain the situation to the administrators. However, I was immediately blocked for block evading even though I just tried to explain my situation. The next day, I submitted a appeal on this account, explaining my situation and apologising for block evading. Two days later, an admin called Rosguill found my block appeal and we talked about why I should be unblocked and what I'd do afterwards. While we were in the middle of our conversation, a user called NinjaRobotPirate said that I'd evaded my block. The truth is that I was in a different location and I forgot to log in. When I found I was able to edit pages I thought I was unblocked. However, I'd simply forgotten to log in to my account at this location. I did not deliberately block evade, it was just a mistake on my part and I hope you'll forgive me for this. In the meantime, I have been editing on Wikivoyage. You can see my contributions on Wikivoyage here. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 08:39, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Given the evasion, even if possibly unintentional, and some additional evidence that I have received via email regarding your interest in Justine Tung, I think that the only path to being unblocked is to wait six months and request the standard offer. signed, Rosguill talk 17:40, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove declined unblock requests. These must stay on your talk page, as it says in bold. Also, if you evade your block by editing while logged out, I'll block your IP address even longer. Do not evade your block. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:09, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have been making many positive contributions to Wikivoyage, as you can see here. I am really sorry for what I did and I promise I won't do it again as I now understand what I did was wrong. I would like to make a fresh start and put this in the past. I will make positive contributions to the encyclopaedia if I am unblocked. My evasion was truly a mistake and I wish I could just forget this. I have followed the WP:GAB to the best of my ability and I hope that my block can be reduced to a shorter one. I have also made some Template:2nd chance requests below this unblock request. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 09:15, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your decisions have consequences and unfortunately you will need to live with those consequences. You made a conscious decision to evade your block and to attempt to continue to edit, accepting an unblock request at this time would send the message that your editing decisions do not have consequences, which is incorrect. That your decisions have consequences is particularly important when thinking about a project such as Wikipedia, where decisions on editing biographies of living people can have very real and very significant consequences not just for you, but also the persons that you choose to write about. It is therefore vital that you learn about living with the consequences of your actions. The period discussed previously of six months will enable you to spend time reading and understanding core Wikipedia policies, guidelines and ethical considerations concerning your actions. Request reason:

I was told that if I came back in May, I could request the WP:SO. In the months that I have been blocked, I have read through many policies on Wikipedia, and have helped out on many other wikis such as Wikivoyage, where I have made over 2,000 edits. On Wikivoyage, I reported a sockpuppet of a long-term vandal named Telstra just 50 minutes after the account was created. My idea was even made this years April Fools page. I am truly sorry for what I did and promise to only use one account from now on. My IP address was globally blocked, however I appealed it and my IP has since been unblocked. It appears to me that you've been editing logged out at least in December and January, and possibly this month. Are you able to explain this? SQLQuery me! 17:07, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL: On Wikivoyage and Meta-Wiki. I did evade once on Wikipedia in December, as mentioned in my previous unblock requests. I am sorry for doing that. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:28, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, on wikipedia, per the WP:CHECKUSER tool. SQLQuery me! 17:31, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SQL: I edited once while logged out in December, and was autoblocked. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:32, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

And in late January (however, that was just once). SQLQuery me! 17:34, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL: Okay. I will keep this block appeal up until May. Then I will ping you again to see if you think I can be unblocked. Once again, I am sorry for editing while logged out. I will continue to edit other Wikimedia projects. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:37, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL: Okay, just an update. My IP address was globally blocked, however I have appealed it and there is an active unblock request. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 07:09, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm aware - I was participating over there. I even asked you to stop pinging me, please. SQLQuery me! 14:53, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sorry Dreamboat1234 (talk) 15:03, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Praxidicae: I have updated my unblock request with information from my Meta talk page. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:59, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, would you like a cookie? I'm not an administrator and don't have the power to unblock you. CUPIDICAE💕 18:05, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Praxidicae: Okay, that’s fine. I was told I can’t make my unblock request for a few months anyway, I was just giving you a heads up that I had changed my unblock request. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 19:21, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL and Nick: It is now June. In the six months that I have been blocked, I have been reading Wikipedia policies and editing Wikivoyage. Please read my unblock appeal above. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 16:09, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser evidence shows no evidence of block evasion. This should count in favour of this user's unblock request. --Yamla (talk) 10:33, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Leaderboard, SHB2000, and ThunderingTyphoons!: There was a suggestion on my Wikivoyage talk page that I should ask some established users to confirm that I am this IP address and that I have been making positive edits to the site. I am pinging a few users to confirm this. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:13, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am happy to confirm this. The intention is to have this user stop using their IP address completely (even on en.wikivoyage) and use only their SUL account on that site so that they can progress on the hierarchy like anyone else. I have been watching this user for a few months and can confirm that on en.wikivoyage at least, the IP address of this user has been very contributive.
I have no issues with having this user unblocked on en.wikipedia, as long as there are no other reasons that I am not aware of. As an admin on two other WMF sites, I'll unblock this user if I could. Leaderboard (talk) 17:31, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Leaderboard: (edit conflict) Just to make it clear, the reason why I was blocked was me and TigerScientist trouting each other. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Leaderboard: Thank you for the kind words that you have written above. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 17:38, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, confirmed. SHB2000 (talk) 21:28, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
And sorry for the blant response this morning (AEST). But yes, I do find it difficult to understand why 82.3.185.12 is blocked here in the first place. He's been a great contributor to the english wikivoyage for months now, and has actively been patrolling and getting involved in discussions. As an admin of another language Wikipedia, I would not have blocked 82 in the first place. If this user used his SUL account, he'd be a template editor on wikivoyage by now, and to say, that was supposed to happen months ago, if only Dreamboat1234 used their account.
So yes, I'm very much in favour of unblocking this user now, and I think he's learnt his lesson now.
Cheers, --SHB2000 (talk) 06:38, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the ping. Through lack of experience, I can't comment on Wikipedia processes, but as far as Wikivoyage goes (where I'm a sysop), this user has been a major asset and we're lucky to have them there.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 08:25, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ThunderingTyphoons! and SHB2000: Thank you! Dreamboat1234 (talk) 18:29, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
If I may, may I ask @Ground Zero: to also comment about this? He's a sysop here, and would know about the unblocking process here. SHB2000 (talk) 21:22, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I do not see any evidence of block evasion. Coupled with positive contributions on wikivoyage, I'd be inclined to give them another chance. !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 21:50, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree with @ThunderingTyphoons! and SHB2000: with regard to the user's contributions to Wikivoyage. What do @NinjaRobotPirate, Rosguill, and Nick: think about this request? Ground Zero | t 02:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't really care that much. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:04, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I care even less. Blocks are cheap, if/when Dreambot1234 misbehaves again, someone will indef or make them head of WMF or something and that'll be the end of their time on the project. Nick (talk) 08:21, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure if DB1234 even misbehaved in the first place to be honest. SHB2000 (talk) 09:01, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: Seems from reading above that there is consensus that there were issues for sure. !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 09:40, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think my opinions were influenced because I'm a pretty chill person and I have the trout button on my talk page as well as the fact of me knowing 82.3.185.12 for only Wikivoyage, until Leaderboard brought this page to my attention. SHB2000 (talk) 09:42, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: I see, where did Leaderboard bring this to your attention? !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 09:48, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
On the voy:Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, although it did get revdeled and deleted after 30 mins from User:ThunderingTyphoons! upon 82's request. SHB2000 (talk) 09:50, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Huh. Why were those revisions deleted? !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 09:53, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL: See my talk page. Seems to be an en.wikivoyage thing. Leaderboard (talk) 09:56, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
At this point, I'm going to leave this unblock request for another admin to review instead of acting on it directly. As a recap - from a technical standpoint, I don't see further evidence of block evasion in the period available to me. I'm somewhat uneasy with regards to what appears to me to be an off-wiki canvassing campaign. That'll land me squarely in Nick's camp. I don't care all that much. If Dreamboat returns to disruption - I have no doubts that they will be reblocked swiftly. My hope is that they are unblocked, and continue to edit here productively, as they have been at wikivoyage. !ɘM γɿɘυϘ⅃ϘƧ 10:03, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SQL: Me? I think the reference is in the IP's en.wikivoyage's talk page. Leaderboard (talk) 09:51, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000 and SQL: Above, it says that revisions on the Traveller's pub were deleted on my request, however User:ThunderingTyphoons! had already deleted some of the revisions. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 12:08, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, those revdels were done on a request on TT's talk page. I know that. SHB2000 (talk) 12:10, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@SHB2000: The revisions were hidden at 11:36 on the 18th of May. I didn't leave a message on User:ThunderingTyphoons! talkpage until two days after, on the 20th of May. Dreamboat1234 (talk) 12:14, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I see - idiot me, usually does not look at the time or date stamp. SHB2000 (talk) 12:19, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Are you still going to edit here as well... edit

Well, since you said you're going to retire from Wikivoyage, are you retiring here too? Also, you've now been unblocked. SHB2000 (talk) 08:37, 7 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
