October 2016 edit

Hello, I'm Chris troutman. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of UFC champions, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Wikipedia relies on reliable sources. We are not at all concerned with what might be true. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:52, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of UFC champions, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. It is really important that you show sources for stuff like someone being stripped of a title. By drawing a conclusion from what you don't see is original research, which isn't allowed.   Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to List of UFC champions. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:49, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

List of UFC Champions edit

Well, it seems you've been warned several times here... And as an IP as well. First of all, you can't remove info without reliable source. You did not provide a single one, just a page from the UFC website. There's no statement regarding Jones because they're waiting on the judgment to decide. There is an interview as recent as September with Daniel Cormier saying he hopes the UFC strips Jones (which clearly enters in conflict with your opinion). Therefore, what you've been doing is wrong and you've violated the 3RR rule and also engaged in a massive edit war. I'm reporting you due to those incidents. Hopefully you understand the situation and it does not happen again in the future. You should start a discussion if you want to change things in the article next time.

Btw, even if you were right, you can't remove Jones from the list of LHW champions. It's erasing history and that's 110% wrong. Gsfelipe94 (talk) 04:42, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Ian.thomson (talk) 05:41, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, Wikipedia actually prefers secondary and tertiary sources over primary sources. That is not a reason for your block, the three revert rule is. "I think I'm right" is not an excuse. Ian.thomson (talk) 05:41, 10 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
