Correction to WLIR site needed for sale to BTRN

Dr. Chuck - you made a change to the WLIR page as it relates to the purchase of WLIR and WBON (WBZB) by Business Talk Radio whereby you stated that the purchase price for all 3 stations (including WDRE) was $1.75 million. In fact there were 2 APA's according to the FCC website: BALH 20061226AAL 314 (WBON) and BALH 20061226AAK 314 (WLIR) and EACH ONE was for $1.75 million. Given the over inflated prices still being paid at that time, $3.5 million was not a bad price for 3 stations in the hamptons. Ironically, it was always indicted that WDRE was part of the deal but the APA for WDRE was no where in sight! Perhaps you can investigate this further and make a correction as appropropriate. Thanks. Indeed, you are correct. The reference I used made it sound like it was $1.75 million for all three. I'll research this and use a more accurate/precise reference. Thanks for the info! --DrChuck68 (talk) 18:01, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

WFOX

I'm sorry your wrong, including WNYW as part of WFOX's other uses is completely inappropriate. WNYW never used the WFOX call letters and irregardless that you are trying to point out to the FOX network then it should point to the list of FOX affiliates. I am honestly annoyed over this but I am not going to argue or get in a frickin' editing war with you. I'll let someone else who has more patience with you and try to point you in the right direction on how things are done properly on Wikipedia. I'm out! TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 05:27, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

True, WNYW never used the WFOX call letters, but searchers might be looking for the flagship (or, as you point out, any) Fox TV affiliate. The link to WNYW was in there before I made any edits (I know, not an excuse), but the fact that WNYW is the Fox TV flagship and searchers unfamiliar with that fact might enter WFOX to find it didn't really bother me. The hatnote would point searchers in that direction if that's what they were looking for. Anyhow, I've updated the hatnote again to point to the list of Fox TV affiliates as you suggested. --DrChuck68 (talk) 13:07, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
