A "See also" is not really a standard. If it were, then for most composers we would be casting around vainly for things to put in it. Look at the composers articles which have gained "featured article" status, Charles Ives, Olivier Messiaen, Witold Lutosławski, Rebecca Helferich Clarke, Dmitri Shostakovich and Igor Stravinsky, which ought to define a standard if any composer articles do. Placing a link to another article in a "see also" section is really an admission that the subject of the article being linked to ought to have been mentioned in the text of the article but isn't (or isn't yet). The three links in the Brahms see also section were to the list and category of works (which really live in the Works as the obvious place for them) and the Brahms Inlet is a non-existent article (and even if it ever gets written it won't tell us about Brahms). That leaves us with an empty "see also" section, the ideal in my view. Thanks. --RobertG ♬ talk 15:33, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

You didn't come over as particularly aggressive, just remarkably assertive (and particularly so since I noticed your post to my talk page was your first contribution - at least your first as a logged in user)! Do use the links I listed above to learn about how Wikipedia works, but your posts to my talk page make me believe that you have the right attitude! Welcome! I noticed that you moved "Six Moments Musicaux" to "Six Moments Musicaux (Rachmaninoff)". In titles of pieces, you only need to give the composer's name if there are multiple pieces with the same title (For instance, an article about "Piano Concerto No. 2" would have to be a bit more specific). You're right, and I was going to agree with you a while ago, only I suddenly had to work. I didn't realise how many pieces with that title there were, probably because I'm a dunce when it comes to Romantic piano repertoire. I'll more it back to the name you moved it to, and maybe you would like to create a Disambiguation page for Moments Musicaux? You might also be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject composers, but I don't know of any projects for writing about specific pieces. No no, it's fine. I just thought perhaps the title contained private information. There have been a couple incidents where people have harassed people in real life based on stuff they've done on Wikipedia, so I thought since I have the Admin hat, I'd see if you wanted it deleted. Hi Dr. Friendly, thank you for your message. Your contributions to the news section of the Music Portal are greatly appreciated. However, I'm worried that considering this news item does not appear to have been reported by any news agency whatsoever (be it commercial or otherwise), it isn't noteworthy. Furthermore, the person in question does not even have a Wikipedia article, again because they are not significant enough. Whilst I totally agree that it's important to cover a wide range of music-related news topics, even if they aren't widely covered in mainstream news, the news item should have at least some importance, and the fact that there is a lack of Wikipedia articles and no coverage whatsoever from any news agency would suggest that this competition is not the most important classical music competition in the world. Agh because

It only had one blue link, rendering it useless in effect as a disambiguation page, which are used for distinguishing between two or more similarly titled articles. I said agh because I didn't notice this until I'd already formatted the page. If you intend to create the Gustav Satter article, revert the Satter page to this revision afterwards.
