Improving Stencyl article
editI'd strongly suggest you add more inline references from non-primary sources; i.e. instead of using stencyl own press releases and website, use the much more reliable articles you've in external links, like from BBC or Wired. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 20:50, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Stencyl and COI
editJust a friendly note that you may want to check out our policy on conflicts of interest. This would apply not only to articles like Stencyl, but also when linking to the article in question. Edits like this and this border on advertising, which is not what we're about. I'll be reverting some of the more blatant advertisements, but I wanted to let you know why I'm doing so. I hope this helps! Cheers! Wyatt Riot (talk) 02:22, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- I understand your concern - it wasn't my intention to advertise, just to get the article further linked, but perhaps I got carried away. My apologies. DotHectate (talk) 02:34, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- No worries, it happens. You wouldn't believe how many times people try to add things like "research shows blah blah blah, but now with our NEW PRODUCT...". Once the article takes off, people will start to link to it, especially once Stencyl gets mentioned in better sources. It just happens naturally. Not to say that you can't do the linking yourself, it's just discouraged because of the difficulties in remaining neutral. If/when Stencyl becomes fairly high-profile according to quality sources, I'll gladly self-revert and add some links myself. Cheers! Wyatt Riot (talk) 02:53, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'll go check out the wikiprojects to see if there's something I can help with not related to this. DotHectate (talk) 02:57, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
