Hello world.

Editing while logged out edit

Hi - I'm Girth Summit, an administrator and checkuser here. I get the impression that you have probably been around here a while (perhaps under IPs, perhaps under different accounts that you've abandoned?). That's fine - there's no policy requiring you to edit under an account, or even to log in every time you want to edit. However, there is WP:LOUTSOCK, which is part of the sockpuppetry policy. It has come to my attention that you have, more than once, contributed to discussions both while logged in, and while logged out - that is not appropriate. Furthermore, I see that you left an message (which was described as an "unconscionable attack" by the admin who reverted you) on another editor's talk page, while you were logged out. That is absolutely not on, and I considered blocking your account indefinitely (and your usual IP range for a few years) when I saw it. The fact that it appears to have been a one-off has given me pause though, so I'm going to give you another chance, but let me make it very simple: don't do stuff like that. Don't insult other editors and, if you feel the need to do so, log in before you do it. Stand behind your words, and roll with the consequences if they come.
