Hello, I'm Gab4gab. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Rusty Stevens, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gab4gab (talk) 14:14, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

My source is IMBD. Episode was entitled The Case Of The Dodging Domino and was episode 159 in the series. DonaldMaddenFan (talk) 14:52, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello DonaldMaddenFan, We don't consider IMDB to be a reliable source because, like Wikipedia, it has user contributed content. You might find it interesting to look through Reliable sources/Perennial sources which contains a list of sources with brief discussion about them. I've reverted you again because the source isn't considered reliable. There doesn't seem to be much that's published. A number of editors have added material based on their personal knowledge which is considered original research and not accepted either. Gab4gab (talk) 15:13, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

What about hard copy reference books? Are those acceptable as references? DonaldMaddenFan (talk) 17:09, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, references don't need to be online. The Perry Mason TV show book / by Brian Kelleher and Diana Merrill sounds promising although I don't have access to a copy. I've found several online sources but none of them are considered reliable - with the possible exception of Metacritic. Gab4gab (talk) 17:24, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have a copy. I am looking at it now. What info do I need to give for the reference? DonaldMaddenFan (talk) 17:53, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Usually for a book: author(s), title, publisher, year & location of publication, isbn, page number(s). The template is {{cite book}}. Gab4gab (talk) 18:25, 30 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
