Speedy deletion of Society of Vacuum Coaters edit

A tag has been placed on Society of Vacuum Coaters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. скоморохъ 15:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have restored the above article and fixed a bit - please add more content/details so another admin doesn't decide to delete it again. Vsmith (talk) 19:29, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

http://sss.svc.org external link edit

Hi Don. You seem to be new here so you may not be aware that we have some guidelines and policies about appropriate content for articles. Your addition of the svc.org link fits our definition of link spamming. I realize you probably didn't intend it this way - it is common for people with relevant services to assume that adding them to Wikipedia articles is welcomed - but it doesn't really fit in with our mission to provide encyclopedic and neutral content. Our guidelines on external links provide guidance for what is appropriate, in particular they suggest that links to commercial services be avoided and that all links should provide direct further information about the subject, rather than simply being related to the subject. You might also check out our guidelines on editing with a conflict of interest. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to leave me a message at the bottome of my talk page. Thanks. -- SiobhanHansa 03:38, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Spam edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. - Please also read conflict of interest as you appear to be adding links to websites to which you may have a connection. Thank you, Vsmith (talk) 00:22, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries edit

Hi, your recent edit summaries: the editors have insulted me are quite disturbing. We have been trying to work with you and explain Wikipedia policies and you seem reluctant to reply here. Where are the insults you speak of? Wikipedia needs "expert editors", but at the same time requires all editors to follow the rules and procedures which we have referred you to above. Please state your concerns here so we can explain better and clarify the situation. Thank you, Vsmith (talk) 03:02, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
