Recent edits to Max Santos

Hello. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person (Max Santos), but that you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 04:17, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

We Got Next moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, We Got Next, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Celestina007 (talk) 07:48, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I had put links on the page proving the information is right. The problem is there's not a lot of info about this article because it's based on an album that didn't have a lot of notoriety do to the fact that the group wasn't with a record label. And this album is never mentioned by them. I want this article to exist. Over time, others will add info if there are any. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 04:08, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Romeo Santos: King of Bachata

edit

The article Romeo Santos: King of Bachata has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:NFILM as no reviews present, or found in a BEFORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. @Donaldd23 I understand why you want to delete it. However, considering the work I put in to it, I want it to stay and I will do what ever it takes to keep it because I don't want it to be erased from Wikipedia. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Toby Love - Latin Grammy Awards 2013.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Toby Love - Latin Grammy Awards 2013.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 03:46, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

This image was uploaded on Wikipedia Commons since early this year and it didn't get deleted until recently for some reason even though it was on Wiki Commons for month. I uploaded it here be I was that Hector El Father's bio page on Wikipedia and I thought I was allowed to do that with Toby Love's image. I used the same description and non-free tag for it so I don't know why it was deleted. What can you recommend so I can have an image for Toby Love's Bio page? What makes Héctor's image different from the image I uploaded. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 04:08, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have nominated the image at Hector El Father for deletion. Non-free images may only be used if they meet all of the non-free content criteria. Nonfree images of living people are almost always considered replaceable with a free image and so fails WP:NFCC#1. The Toby Love image you uploaded was from Wireimage, a commercial photo agency which makes its money from licensing its images and so fails WP:NFCC#2. If you cannot find a freely licensed image, then the article will just have to be without an image. Whpq (talk) 04:28, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
So an image with no copyrights would work right? Also, what tags would work for Wikipedia and Wikipedia Commons would you recommend to make sure I can upload an image for certain pages and to make sure it doesn't get deleted. I know about the flickr but I want to use it from other websites. For example, since I was using a Toby Love image, I do want to talk about the group he use to work for, Aventura. The image for their page wasn't really uploaded by the author of the image but because of the website it came from it was allowed and it was even reviewed and verified that it can be used on Wiki. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 17:16, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:File copyright tags/Free licenses provides a list of acceptable licenses. Note that things are copyrighted by default and do not require an explicit copyright notice so that lack of a copyright statement on a web page does not mean an image is not under copyright. Copyright, and Wikipedia's non-free content policy can be very confusing. You can get help with any questions at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Whpq (talk) 17:29, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
What about a posted from an artist on their social media page from that artist's page? Maybe like just a regular picture. I was actually searching for Romeo Santos on Wikipedia Commons and I found an image that was taken from Santos's Facebook page. This is the file: c:File:KingRomeoSantos.jpg Does this work? Also, I want to be specific that I am not talking about a promotional poster, photo from a tv show, nor an album cover. I am talking about a regular picture of them with good quality and it is posted as just a social media just like everybody else do on a regular day to day basis. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 18:03, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am going to repeat myself. Note that things are copyrighted by default and do not require an explicit copyright notice so that lack of a copyright statement on a web page does not mean an image is not under copyright. I have tagged that image for speedy deletion as a copyright violation. I've also edited your comment to refer to the image without inserting the image on this page. For your reference, next time you want to refer to an image without displaying it, you can add a colon (":") in front of the the word "File" and it will display as a link to the file instead of inserting the image. Almost all social media images are copyrighted and unless there is an explicit license statement indicating a free license, then it is not going to be usable on Wikipedia. Whpq (talk) 18:40, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I guess flickr makes more sense to use since it is allowed. As long as the author is the uploader on flickr, the image can be expectable. Not like one of the images I had recently uploaded because the user was not the author. I'm talking about the images that are owned by the user themselves. This Prince Royce image is an example. This image from Aventura is from another website but permission was granted to have it on Wiki. Also, you work really fast and know exactly what images are allowed and not allowed. I hope your not exaggerating with some of them. Anyways, I am impressed. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 18:56, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Trio Xtreme.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Trio Xtreme.jpeg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 03:26, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Special:Contributions or when looking at a user page or user talk page there is a link on the left hand menu are just a couple. Whpq (talk) 00:52, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Whpq I did have some things added in my talk page so there's that. Also, how long have you been part of Wikipedia? These images uploaded to Wiki didn't present a problem in the past until you came along and declared it unfit for Wiki. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 01:09, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Just because nobody noticed before, it doesn't mean the image is compliant with non-free content criteria. Wikipedia is a freely licensed encyclopedia, and the use of any non-free content needs to meet all of the non-free content criteria. As for how long I've been on Wikipedia, long enough, and I leave that as an exercise in discovery for you to figure out how long. Whpq (talk) 02:31, 19 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Whpq I have to admit that I've seen a lot of things that either needed change, be redirected, or be deleted. I do editing for Latin Music and I've seen some pages that suprisegly are still on Wiki. Since I mostly music album pages, I make sure that they have the necessary amount of references to make it worthy of being on Wikipedia. Unfortunately it is hard when it comes to some Hispanic albums depending on the artist. Finding an article whether it is in English or Spanish is a struggle but I do everything I can to make sure these album pages have a legit reason to exist. I have created a few myself. I make sure it had an article about it and that it charted on Billboard. The Billboard part alone is very important as it has been what mostly keeps these pages around whether it is about a song or an album. At least the album cover images have not been a problem since I do use the right tags for it and it is allowed to be uploaded on Wikipedia. Deletion discussion about We Got Next

edit

Hello, DominicanWikiEdit1996, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username JML1148, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, We Got Next, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/We Got Next (2nd nomination).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Xtreme -We Got Next (Cover).jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Xtreme -We Got Next (Cover).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:55, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed a file deletion tag from File:Xtreme -We Got Next (Cover).jpg. When removing deletion tags, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. The issue is not license tags. Ways to improve Devuélveme La Navidad

edit

Hello, DominicanWikiEdit1996,

Thank you for creating Devuélveme La Navidad.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for the article! Though, how does this meet the notability guidelines for songs, WP:NSONG? One of the criteria is Has been ranked on national or significant music or sales charts, but per WP:CHART, the Tropical Airplay chart should only be used when If a song has charted on Hot Latin Songs or Latin Airplay but not any other Billboard genre charts listed on "Applicable US charts" you may add any of the following..., I don't think this is the case here as I couldn't find if this charted the Hot Latin Songs chart or the Latin Airplay chart. If you could find reviews (which I didn't find) or other charts please feel free to revert my tag, many thanks for your work and efforts!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|VickKiang}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Tu Sin Mi y Yo Sin Ti moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Tu Sin Mi y Yo Sin Ti. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Losipov (talk) 05:18, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Quick comment here: only one source was in the article, and that source itself does not seem the best. I would resubmit when more sources are provided (given the chart position, I think the subject is notable, but nevertheless more sources are needed). Losipov (talk) 05:21, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hijacking

edit

Hi, please don’t hijack articles or redirects that have a long history as you did with Aventurero. It had a long history as an article for a song by Thalía before being redirected due to notability concerns. The proper procedure would have been to move the redirect to Aventurero (song) and then create the article for the album at the non-disambiguated title. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 03:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for telling me this. I wasn't aware that I had done anything wrong. I didn't know about that this was concidered hijacking a page. I could create a new one titled as Aventurero (album) if this could fix the issue. That is if you think its the best idea. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 03:22, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
That would still mix the two histories. The rationale is explained in WP:CWW. I’ve requested an admin to handle the split to distinguish the two histories. As long the notability of the album isn’t challenged, it is best to add the disambiguator only to the redirected song title. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 03:33, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well I did ad articles to make sure it is notable by Wiki standards. So yes, a split by a administrator would be the best idea. DominicanWikiEdit1996 (talk) 03:36, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
