GA review

I have waited and waited for this and am absolutely thrilled to hear from you. I am currently deeply involved in an FA review of Biblical criticism with 4 different reviewers posting things every day. I will do my best to keep up! Thank you for doing this! Jenhawk777 (talk) 16:37, 17 November 2020 (UTC)

@Jenhawk777: Hey there! I'm happy to help! Full disclosure: this is my first GA review so I may be a bit slow with it because I want to do a good job. I've reviewed all of the various guidelines and instructions and will certainly do my best! Hopefully I should have my review done by the end of the weekend at the latest! DocFreeman24 (talk) 01:44, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
DocFreeman24 If you can do this in a week I will be truly impressed! I will do my best to keep up! Jenhawk777 (talk) 04:52, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
Doc I have been held up on the FA of Biblical criticism, but I think it is winding up. I will be back soon. Jenhawk777 (talk) 07:46, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
@Jenhawk777: No worries! Like I said on the talk page, with the holiday and everything else going on, I don't view the 7 day window as an important deadline. I'll be offline Friday/Saturday, so it may take until next week to get everything sorted out! Cheers! DocFreeman24 (talk) 14:13, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! Bless you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Jenhawk777 (talk) 17:15, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
haven't heard from you in awhile Doc - not complaining! Just noting. I finished up what was on the review page, is there more? Where do we stand with this? I don't want to let it drag on too long. Jenhawk777 (talk) 23:35, 30 November 2020 (UTC)
Hi Jenhawk777, as I mentioned in my prior comments, I needed to be offline Friday and over the weekend due to IRL commitments. I just finished work today and I am planning to finish my second read-through tonight but it may slip to tomorrow. I think there will likely be further issues to work through but, on the whole, I am hopeful we are close to being done. Thanks! DocFreeman24 (talk) 00:39, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Sorry Doc, if you knew me you'd know that I can't keep tabs on my own schedule nevertheless anyone else's. I am one of those people that are the reason why doctors and dentists send out multiple reminders days and weeks ahead of an appointment and drive normal people crazy. Me? I am always surprised - oh look, I have an appointment! I didn't realize! Yes, the reminders are all my fault. I'm like that old M&M commercial - "one guy jumps in and hits his head and everyone has to pay!" I can tell you when the Roman empire fell - based on three different theories - but I can't remember to flip my calendar from month to month. Forgive me! You're fine! I have just finished up the last batch you left and if you like the final revamp, I think we're good. Jenhawk777 (talk) 06:41, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
Jenhawk777 No worries at all. Let me take a look at your responses today and hopefully we'll be done :) It really is looking good IMHO! DocFreeman24 (talk) 14:33, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Tips on sources for retro video games

Just a heads-up on reviews for retro video games! I have been working hard for a while on updating old magazine pages on the Reference library - for example, I am currently filling in Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Reference library/Page 6 (started from here). :) If you see an article with few or no sources, if the game was published in the 20th century (or to some extent the early part of this century) it may have been reviewed in any number of old magazines, so check on the "what links here" link and see if there are any pages saying "Reference library". If you want to go the extra mile, go to the actual Reference library as I linked to above, and there is a search function there to find whatever you are looking for, because not every review listed there is linked to the correct game. I come across games all the time that have minimal or non-existent sourcing as I do this, and I am trying to power through some big lists so I don't have time to add all those reviews myself, but I am linking to every game I find! BOZ (talk) 04:09, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Awesome, thanks for the heads-up BOZ! I didn't even know we had a reference library >.>! So this is doubly useful! DocFreeman24 (talk) 05:56, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Enjoy. :) BOZ (talk) 05:58, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Covers

Hey there! I "thank" you all the time when you add one to an article I started, but I am thanking you directly - keep up the good work! Earlier this week I started Apollo 18: Mission to the Moon and BlackJack Academy if you have covers for them - the rest you will get to as you work through the alphabet. :) BOZ (talk) 02:19, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

@BOZ: Of course! And thank you for the "thank yous"! They encourage me and keep me motivated! It's fun to see these old covers! I'll add Apollo 18 and BlackJack Academy tonight if I'm able! Also, once if you have other ideas for easy things to contribute to, just let me know. I'm a relatively new editor so I'm still figuring out what I want to work on. The covers are pretty fun and straightforward. I might do the screenshots after that, I don't know. So any suggestions welcome! DocFreeman24 (talk) 02:29, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good! There are many games without covers, but there are many many more articles without screenshots so that may keep you busy for some time to come! :o BOZ (talk) 02:31, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

I started Decisive Battles of the American Civil War, Vol. 2 in case you have a cover for that one! BOZ (talk) 03:19, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

@BOZ: Done! PS. How do you find these old games? Cheers! DocFreeman24 (talk) 04:51, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
Thanks! I've been working my way through this. :) Before that, I did the same thing on this! BOZ (talk) 05:26, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Faery Tale Adventure II: Halls of the Dead just got restored, if you have anything for that one. :) BOZ (talk) 02:21, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

@BOZ: Thanks for the ping! I've added it now! I hope you'll keep working on video game articles despite all the hubbub! DocFreeman24 (talk) 04:52, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
I'll be involved in some capacity, but it may be a while before I resume anything like what I was doing before. :) I'm going to start by building up on the sources of the articles I started already, and then we'll see how and when I come back to it. BOZ (talk) 04:54, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
