editThank you for trying to keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at Tibetan Plateau, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage editors. Please see what is not vandalism for more information on what is and is not considered vandalism. Thank you. That edit appeared to be a good faith edit, well explained based on an editorial policy or guideline. That you note it's an incomplete reading and disagree with the edit based on a more complete one doesn't make the original edit bad-faith or vandalism. DMacks (talk) 17:06, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
The article Michiel Meyer Cohen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Never had any sources
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Guy (Help!) 19:56, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

editSince those Taiwanese IPs have been persistently vandalizing the Chinese words in the language box, I suggest that you resort to WP:RFP to request semi-protection for this page so that those annoying IPs will be automatically banned from vandalizing further. --221.13.92.178 (talk) 13:17, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. editDisambiguation link notification for December 1
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited SenseTime, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Facial recognition (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
tag from Kole Black, which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, proposed deletion is disallowed on articles that have previously been de-prodded, even by the page's creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{proposed deletion}}
template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:06, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

editPlease stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Esiymbro (talk) 14:17, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Esiymbro: Could you explain what I did wrong? You didn't leave an edit summary on any of your reverts. Doanri (talk) 14:33, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not do on Vladislav Surkov. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Although many IP editors do indeed fail to edit constructively, that was a good edit which did improve the grammar. It would be helpful in future if you use edit summaries as well. Please do not be unnecessarily biased towards IPs. Many long term editors began as an IP; most don't even remember which one they were! Psiĥedelisto (talk • contribs) please always ping! 10:47, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Psiĥedelisto: Ouch! You've used a template to send a message to an experienced editor. Please review the essay Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars or maybe listen to a little advice. Doesn't this feel cold, impersonal, and canned? It's meant in good humour. Best wishes. Doanri (talk) 10:50, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Doanri: I think it's perhaps not fair for you to call my reply canned when I wrote almost as much text as the template has in it. I'm aware of WP:DTR, thank you; I used Twinkle to send you a personalized, not canned, message for convenience sake. Best, Psiĥedelisto (talk • contribs) please always ping! 10:52, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

editHello, I am new to Wiki and still learning, please have patience with me.Even with your profile I initially did not see your edditing. So hence the distrust. Can you help me to see if we can make this work. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Shenqijing (talk) 10:54, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Shenqijing:Of course, I'd be glad to! I think the resources I left on your talk page might be a good place to start, and I'd be happy to help you if you have any other questions. Also, and forgive me if my assumption is wrong, if you're more comfortable reading Chinese, you could take a look at zh:Wikipedia:可靠来源, which is the equivalent of WP:RS (do keep in mind that the policies will differ a bit, and that the rules here are generally more strict, especially regarding self-published sources). Let me know how everything goes! Doanri (talk) 11:17, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Invitation to take part in a survey about medical topics on Wikipedia
editDear fellow editor,
I am Piotr Konieczny, a sociologist of new media at Hanyang University (and User:Piotrus on Wikipedia). I would like to better understand Wikipedia's volunteers who edit medical topics, many associated with the WikiProject Medicine, and known to create some of the highest quality content on Wikipedia. I hope that the lessons I can learn from you that I will present to the academic audience will benefit both the WikiProject Medicine (improving your understanding of yourself and helping to promote it and attract new volunteers) and the wider world of medical volunteering and academia. Open access copy of the resulting research will be made available at WikiProject's Medicine upon the completion of the project.
All questions are optional. The survey is divided into 4 parts: 1 - Brief description of yourself; 2 - Questions about your volunteering; 3 - Questions about WikiProject Medicine and 4 - Questions about Wikipedia's coverage of medical topics.
Please note that by filling out this questionnaire, you consent to participate in this research. The survey is anonymous and all personal details relevant to your experience will be kept private and will not be transferred to any third party.
I appreciate your support of this research and thank you in advance for taking the time to participate and share your experiences! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at my Wikipedia user page or through my email listed on the survey page (or by Wikipedia email this user function).
The survey is accessible through the LINK HERE.

Uyghur Genocide Question

- @Doanri: I was just mentioning it. Maybe another page could be made from that, an article detailing the sinicization of Xinjiang. Also, you're good at China-stuff. -EvaTheWingdale, December 15th, 2021.

Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
