Copy-and-paste page moves

edit

Hello, Dmpicone. Concerning your contribution, List of the world's largest cruise ships, a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL)by denying attribution to editors who worked on User:Dmpicone/World's Largest Cruise Ship List. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from User:Dmpicone/World's Largest Cruise Ship List. As a violation of the page move process, List of the world's largest cruise ships needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that User:Dmpicone/World's Largest Cruise Ship List may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. List of the world's largest cruise ships has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either User:Dmpicone/World's Largest Cruise Ship List or List of the world's largest cruise ships until the latter has been deleted according to Wikipedia's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you did not intend to make a page move, then please insert the {{hangon}} tag right below the {{db-copypaste}} tag in List of the world's largest cruise ships and state your intentions on Talk:List of the world's largest cruise ships. An administrator will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. Thank you for your contributions. -MBK004 06:02, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

World's Largest Cruise Ship List

edit

I have deleted this page because it is a duplicate of List of the world's largest cruise ships, and also has many factual errors. It also did not comply with our naming conventions and has been moved accordingly. The page is also insufficiently referenced and has many other problems. Please consider reading our policies before you continue editing (I have posted them above). -MBK004 21:32, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
