Multiple cites to the same source

When you use a source more than once in an article, but use different pages, you can append the "rp" template after the reference to indicate different pages. For example, [1] : p. 123, 144–148 Constant314 (talk) 03:41, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am relatively new to Wikipedia. I see that the rp template is helpful to make the text more concise when referencing page (ranges). I have often cited the same source, but different equations and/or sections, usually not just page number (ranges). Do you know of another template that could do this to yield a result similar to the rp Template instead of stating the other details (e.g., section, equation number) in-line? My comment was that I believe adding this detail to the citation template as you did would increase the number of citations in the References list. OK for a single citation, but not as concise for multiple sections/equations/etc from the same citation. Dmcdysan (talk) 05:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- I looked at rp template in more detail and it appears that "In-source-location" field can do this. [2]: Sec 5-2, Eqn (25) Dmcdysan (talk) 05:31, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

- @Diannaa I see that my post is crossed out on the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis so I cannot directly respond to " it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. " It appears the issue is that I quoted several sentences and should have rewritten it using my own words. I understand and will not do this again. Thank you.
