During COVID being a DJ is very challenging; it has its up and its downs. The ups during COVID was free promotions for upcoming DJs by them going live on social media platforms more often and people recognizing them since people work from home. Going live more often for DJs gives excellent advertising. An example of good advertising is a show on Instagram called Turn The Tables by Pretty Lou, the hottest MC in NYC. The show contained two upcoming DJs and one famous guest judge. The guest judge would give each upcoming DJ two set to mix, and then they would give a monkey wrench in each set. A monkey wrench is when the guess judge throws any song in the world, and you have to play it; if not, your set is over. If you don’t finish your set, you will get a strike if you want to make it to the finals, aka the season finale. If you make it there, you will get a ton of new followers and fans. Turn the tables show hosted by pretty lou is an excellent way for upcoming DJs to get your name out during COVID. Another example for DJs during COVID is you can practice a lot more and sharpen your skills. Like as practice scratching, entertaining the crowd, and also get your music organized. Scratching is an essential task of being a DJ. There are many scratches to learn from, like the Basic Scratch, Scribble Scratch, Tear Scratch, Stab Scratch, Chirp Scratch, Transformer Scratch, and the Flare Scratch. Another important matter of being a DJ is being a great hype man; COVID was a great time to practice. Another example of being a great DJ has an organized music hard drive. So it can be easy to find when needed. Some of the cons of COVID as a DJ lost their job, aka there place of work. Many famous DJs who Djed for a living only had one income without djing; they did not have an income. They had to think of plans to stay still relevant and stay on top. Some of their ideas to keep on top are going live on social media platforms, leaving there cash app or Venmo so their millions of followers could pay them to listen to their live stream like going to the club. They could even do outside parties /clubs/bars with social distancing; they even used plastic cups, spoons, forks, plates, and knives. During COVID, many DJs had to get second jobs to pay their expenses and bills; Because they can not claim unemployment since they do not pay taxes when they DJ clubs/parties /gigs. Overall, I think COVID helped many DJs go live on social media platforms; it gives DJs excellent advertising. They got new shows for DJs to get there name out. Most DJs got increased there skills from practicing a lot during COVID. Finally, most DJs were able to advance there music selection; and sort their music files so they know where all their music is placed, so it is easy to find.

I wanted to add to my article because it doesnt talk about covid. Covid could be a big problem for many DJs, but it's good for promotion and getting your name out there for some. But Most DJs had to get second jobs so they could afford their bills. Since clubs, bars, and private were not allowed. But let's talk about some more good things about DJs during covid. First is the platform/promotion, which helps to get your name out. Another good thing about DJs during covid was when people couldn't go to clubs, listening to DJs live streams to let time go past since being stuck at home. V/R Xavier cordero

For the article's software section, I think they missed one of the leading software that almost every DJ uses: Serato DJ. It is a free app to play music on and blend songs together. But if you want better features, you can buy Serato DJ pro.

For the article's software section, I think they missed another great software that almost every DJ uses: RekordBox. Rekordbox is mainly for people who use Cdjs, a piece of equipment consisting of three elements: the mixer, the right cdj, and the left cdj. Rekordbox is 100 percent free. It has all the features that many tops of the line software.
