It is considered very rude and borderline vandalism to remove another person's comments on the Reference Desk without good reason. What was your reason for deleting the comment here? -- kainaw 04:38, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Because he asked for command he could use in a batch file, and you suggested cron -- a UNIX program. He didn't mention shell scripting. Why did you mention cron?--Djnghfg (talk) 05:25, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I assume you want me to delete all the batch files off my Linux box now. You can disagree with another person's post, but, as I said, deleting them is considered vandalism. You have been warned. -- kainaw 05:29, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, I never heard anyone refer to a Linux shell script as a "batch file," but I guess it's possible. If you weren't just trying to get him to install Linux, then I apologize. I assume that someone runs Win if they don't say otherwise, since it's the OS of about 90% of clients on the net.--Djnghfg (talk) 05:42, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I actually expected the person to use Google and see something like this - allows you to use crontab on Windows to schedule all kinds of batch scripts. I use cronw on my Windows laptop. -- kainaw 14:52, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
