Map Credit

edit

"Source: the template is wikipedia's, and it has been coloured etc for the arabic wikipedia (ar.wikipedia.org) under the same name." The source is me, and I would very much prefer if you gave me credit in your description. Thank you. --Golbez 01:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

"The source is me, and I would very much prefer if you gave me credit in your description. Thank you.". Which, the template or the final one? Kindly provide a link please, I would gladly give credit. I just grabbed the image off ar.wikipedia.org, are you the one who made it there? --Djihed 02:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
They copied off mine; I don't recall if I checked for credit there or not. Also, there's a particular language barrier. One of my versions is at [1], dated Dec 2004, probably much earlier than any on ar.wikipedia, and that was my second version. All I ask is due credit. Oh, and here's one using that same map, but --Golbez 03:39, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think I found your original version. It's available at [2]. I'll attribute both this image and the one at ar.wikipedia.org. Please have a look and see if I attributed it correctly (not sure about format). Thanks for the polite notice. --Djihed 03:48, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, after checking the license, I see it's GPL. I will attribute credit to mine, but I really can't do that to the one at ar.wikipedia as I didn't upload it. --Djihed 03:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I understand, I'll handle that one myself. And thank you. :) --Golbez 03:57, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yup, please go ahead and update it, please license it under both license as yours. Just for reference, the guys at ar.wikipedia are not really bound to attribute as choosing GFDL is an option from the original. Although I fully understand that you merit the credit. --Djihed 04:02, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mutaharrik tulaiha

edit

hi, i read it in "Sword of Allah, Khalid ibn Walid, his campaigns and life" A.I.Akram. you can search it on net, its the most popular biography and the most detailed study of strategic genius of Khalid ibn Walid. In the footnotes the author (who is well versed in arabic) claims that in early sources historians used the word "mutaharric tulaiha" for the elite cavalry of Khalid ibn Walid. I checked in arabic dictionary some time ago when i was writing that article, Tulaiha = advance guard.

any ways i dont know arabic, i just followed the sources. regards. الله أكبرMohammad Adil 16:49, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Arabeyes up for deletion

edit

You previously participated in the AFD for this article. WP:Link rot is not a reason to delete. Open source publisher trying to aid Arab language users with their computers etc. It was established in early 2001 by a number of Arab Linux enthusiasts. Trying to find sources is hampered by the presumed language of sources. It is a systemic bias in Wikipedia. Arabic language speakers needed. 7&6=thirteen () 16:32, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
